C9
Non-online games like this?
I got to really like Korean online action dungeon crawlers like this, Dungeon Fighter Online, Vindictus, Rusty Hearts and so on. Although I came to avoid them as best I could as I tend to hate the publishers, and the uncertainty of if/when they're going completely screw the game up, or just pull the plug on it. So what games do you know of that are like this (action skill based, dungeon crawler with random loot, hopefully crafting and such that you can go back to older parts for more loot or whatnot), but not reliant on some online service?

... I said non-online games right in the title, games not reliant on an online service, both of those are online games. There's a lot of games like C9 with what I'm looking for that are online games, the problem and question was what games out there are like it, but are not online service based games?

What makes the second even worse is that it's an arena PvP game, not a dungeon crawler. Meaning not only is it online reliant, it's not even a game like C9.

There really isn't any offline game like this. You're probably gonna have to settle for games that have a little bit of this.
Devil May Cry for instance has the action based combat you're looking for. But it doesn't have random loot and it's not really a dungeon crawler.
Yeah, that's pretty much how it looks. About the closest I've found has been the likes of Darksiders II. Seems odd that there hasn't been a game like this other than in the realm of F2P Korean games. We have a bunch of Diablo type games, Borderlands has proven itself profitable, but nothing in the Devil May Cry meets Diablo realm outside of Korean F2P games.

These are the ones that reluctantly keep dragging me back to Korean F2P publishers. At least Webzen doesn't seem to be a horrible steaming pile of crap like some of them. I find the ones to really avoid are the ones with a lot of games, that they are only the publisher for. Webzen has only a handful, and they apparently both publish and develop them. They're still mainly a Korean company, but seems like they're about as good as it's going to get for the foreseeable future.
Looks like Dragon's Crown could be a relatively similar game allowing for single player, plus local and online co-op play. It's just only on the PS3 and Vita, plus some may object to the art style of sorts.

monster hunter? :o unfortunately all mmorpgs will eventually be unplugged nature of the beast even if it is a good game

these are online... but they look frekin cool! Epicus Incognitus, Bless, Black Desert Online, and Archeage but none are out yet... but hey when they come out you wont lose these for a looong time cus all of these titles look fantastic. Especially Epicus.
Monster Hunter is something I've heard of, but never looked into. Seems like it has a number of the elements I'm looking for, but the current ones are on the Wii systems, I don't have those. I could get some of the older ones but the game seems focused just on one boss like fight after another with each one taking as much as some twenty minutes or so depending on what you have and how it goes. With the dungeon crawlers you chew your way through hoards of mobs to get to a boss, the boss may take a while, but not that long. I also like the whole clear your way through a hoard of mobs thing.

At this point I think I'll mess around with C9 for a while yet, but will likely quit eventually. In the end I think I'll do a split focus type thing and stick with single player games, and single player games that also offer multi-player as I'm more of a soloist anyhow. Then get my action fix from playing games like Devil May Cry and so forth. For long epic RPGs I'll play things like games from The Elder Scrolls series and such. There's some that mix the two to some degree, and more like that should come along, but I think that this direction would be best for me.

Thanks though, and if anyone else knows of games that blend the two more, rhyme them off.

I'd recommend the Persona series and Shin Megami Tensei series for PS2. Dungeon crawler, levelup, item crafting, random loot drops. 80+ hours of gameplay on each game at least. Only difference is, the attacking is turnbased

Turn based, and action combat are two rather different things though. It makes them more in the vien of traditional RPGs and Japanese RPGs, which I believe those fall under. I've heard of those often enough, haven't tried them though, mind you I like JRPGs so may try them at some point.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=195028506 This one not fantasy type but action one, olso will recommend Samurai warriors and Dynasty Warriors (DW 6 has some kind of RPG type) a little differens, but if you mean H&S combo games they're quite good too, olso there is Dynasty Warriors Online too (but wery donate deppened), olso not bad is Blades of Time H&S style game too...
More games like this are console games and Japanese/Korean/Chinese programers don't like to create them on PC, also don't know any of you want on PC (Dungeon, Craft, Action, H&S, Action togather), so me looking games like this too.
Hope helped.
Sorry for bad En...

Dynasty Warriors I was aware of, but it's a bit excessive on the whole killing hordes of small fry thing. Dynasty Warriors Online is hosted by Aeria Games, no one should ever deal with them, they are by far the worst F2P publisher out there.

Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae I knew of, and up voted in their Greenlight bid, it like X-Blades is an arena hack and slash, go in a big room, waves of mobs spawn, you start killing. Blades of Time is a type of sequel to X-Blades, I own it already.

Those games are all more straight hack and slash, they can have some RPG like elements, but aren't quite the same as C9. As I mentioned in an earlier post there's Dragon's Crown, but now more recently there's Ragnarok Odyssey, both are now, or soon will be available on both the PS3, and PS Vita. Ragnarok Odyssey looks rather C9 like game play wise, with a bit of online multiplayer along with offline single player, and it's published by XSeed, I really like XSeed, of course as they publish the Ys games, so I'm a tad biased.
