Other horror games with vintage sensibilities
I wanted to share some titles that I like and have been following which has similar respect for vintage game design and sensibilities while still being horror.

Tormented Souls, plays most like Silent Hill. A rare occassion where these horror indie games gets a sequel.

Alisa, plays like classic survival horror like RE1-3. Swap puppets for zombies and BOWs and you get something super faithful yet new.

SIGNALIS, a weird one that I have a hard time comparing to something else. It's definitely the best of these indie survival horror games. I'd say it's a good mix of RE and SH.

Crow Country, a very charming small game that not only displays great horror chops but also pokes fun at some of the tropes like a meta commentary.

CONSCRIPT, a WW1 survival horror game. It plays like Resident Evil but it has human enemies. Who is to say survival horror concepts can't be applied to traditionally non-horror themes?

Thanks. Great list.
I want to play Crow Country but the main character design really turned me off for some reason.

Why? It reminded me of some of the characters from FF7 lol. It was a really, really good game.

Late to the party and might be a bit off your request, but i really enjoyed Eternal Evil. Made by a solo developer with some help from friends. Really enjoyed that and played through twice. Many locations, enemies and items overall, nice atmosphere, two stories linked together, nice gunplay. Scratches all the itches that usually need scratching for the genre lovers. Will also try the hardcore unlockable mode later.

First-person though if that's an issue.

No worries my brother. Modern survival horror games with classic sensibilities (and graphics) are honestly my favorite kinds of game.
