Apartments Key?

Hi everybody! Loving the game so far but I have one question: there's a key you can see from 2F apartments, through a hole in the ground, all the way down on the ground floor. I've finished the apartments section now, but never did get that key...did anybody figure this out yet? Or is it something you come back to later on in the game? Thanks!!

Same here. Hopefully you can come back at a later section. The fire you create says it unlocks all doors

Wondering the same here. I don’t think the fire you create is the answer, as the room containing that key, 014, has no electric lock

Yeah, I've finished the game now and you never return to any previous areas as part of the main path. As far as I can tell, there's no way back into the main section of the apartment building - the exit just leads back to the elevator, which will only bring you to the roof or one side hallway that's isolated from the rest of the building.

Originally I was wondering if you can bring the makeshift hook with you into New Game+, but I just checked and it looks like your inventory doesn't carry over either. This key is still a mystery to me!!

There is an option to replace the fuse in the fuse box next to the shutter that closes after you start the fire in the apartments. But like others have said I didn't find a way back to the apartments when I found fuses I could use and inventory doesn't currently carry over to new game plus (though I wonder if that's a bug).

My plan was to use the makeshift hook to grab the key from the second floor but no luck.

Stever's line of thought should have worked, I was able to find a Steam Guide and article by Hanni that pretty much states the same thing (https://kosguides.com/5634-hollowbody-100-achievements-guide/) "After obtaining the pack of fuses in the Star shop, backtrack to the apartment building. Use one of the fuses to open the closed shutter, then enter apartment 2.14 and use the makeshift hook on the hole on the floor to get the key to apartment 0.14". Maybe it's a bug?

You can definitely get back in to the apartments, I just did, with the fuse for shutter. The door back in to the apartments is not marked as a normal "openable door" on the map.

Okay yeah thanks everybody for the pointers - I've confirmed, after you pick up the fuses from the shop, you can then backtrack through the streets, go back through the sewers/church, head back to the apartment building, and use the spare fuse on the shutter to get back to the main apartments. Use the makeshift hook to get the key through the hole, then enter on the ground floor. Turns out this is where the flamethrower is!!!
