this game is heavily inspired by + a homage to silent hill 2/3 and i can definitely feel that in the gameplay/presentation. if you haven't played them or aren't a fan, i don't think this game is going to be for you.
Maybe the melee combat is a little weird, but it always was in those PS2 era survival horror games.
There is no other reason.
