Honestly with the upgrade to unreal I hope also comes an update to the anticheat, I'd -love- to play it on my steam deck but of course right now I can't at all. Using unreal means EAC might be on the cards instead, which means it can be enabled for linux :)

I'm so so so excited for Eternity. I hope we get more little updates like this in the future that are just speaking about it from a human perspective. It is really refreshing! Mabi will always be one of my favorite MMOs, and it still has so much to it that nothing else can emulate in a way that is nearly as satisfying.

The teasers look wonderful. It seems the Mabi team is filled with a lot of passionate people and that makes me happy. I hope you guys don't push yourselves too hard! This is incredibly exciting, but I don't mind waiting a long time for it to reach what the team desires :).

I really hope this unreal engine project takes off, because many problems in Mabinogi really boil down to it's old engine. If this is done right, this seriously could be amazing. Consider me there day 1 for this, I freaking loved Mabinogi. So proud of the dev team for trying to do ambitious things like this!

I'm glad that they think its important to preserve the soul of Mabinogi. I feel like Mabinogi has been going in wrong directions from the original up until a few years ago, and I hope this current director understands what the soul of the game is and can repair it. This is the last chance for Mabinogi. In this decade it could either be revived and kept afloat or have a slow death and full transformation into a soulless cash-grab gacha mobile game.

Is game play being updated too or just graphics?

I'd love an upgrade to Unreal Engine, it certainly would make development faster including better and more impressive graphical upgrades. Although porting the WHOLE of mabinogi to Unreal is going to be a HUGE undertaking, a costly one too, im not sure an upgrade would be the best idea instead of a whole new game outright.

I grew up playing Mabinogi and it is such a nostalgic game for me. I came back as an adult though and was disappointed to see no change or upgrading for graphics, gameplay, or the world. It was perfect for nostalgia but not for coming back and staying. Seeing this I am extremely excited to rejoin the world of Erinn! I hope we keep the exploration part, as well as the living in Erinn. I loved Getting new clothes and customizing my character. I also loved that when you went to the towns the quests really felt like you were living there and melting into the town. Sitting by the campfire and playing music.... UGH I can't wait for Mabinogi Eternal!

I'm gonna cry

I'm a new player and I loved seeing the potential of this game but was disappointed because I couldn't justify continuing due to it's lack of polish. But I am so so happy that I saw this announcement and I am looking forward to play again in the future!
