Sadly a new mabinogi would never do well. peoples expectations for a new mmo are sky high. they want everything even if thats not possible with the kind of game being made.I have good memorys with mabi but a mabinogi 2 would never work out. plus I would say games like black desert have soured people to this type of game because of how terribly they where implimented and run.
I do, however, look forward to maybe getting a new xpac and some improvements in the future. maybe a 100% server merge, considering server transfers just arn't viable because you don't get your pets and bank moved.
Honestly, all I want is a revamp that finally ditches the now 16 year old Pleione Engine that's wrapped in several layers of duct tape (client and server) to keep it functional with modern Windows. I'm tired of the decrepit rendering pipeline that makes the game run at 5 fps whenever there's a large group of people. I'm tired of the ultra-sensitivity to input latency that has had several placebo "fixes" to address it over the years. I'm tired of devcat's lackluster security implementations that led to events like the Black Robe incident. Optional, but I think the game could look a lot better not by changing the look of the graphics, but finally implement some form of LoD for distant scenes and remove the render distance fog that somehow is in more supply here than vanilla Morrowind.
Sadly though, the game isn't popular enough and not making enough money to warrant such changes. If they ever did do a revamp though, I'd be back in full force and playing the hell out of the game.
