The only things I can think that would be considered pay to win would be training potions that double skill training XP, which can be flat out bought from other players in the Auction House anyway, and equipment Reforges for bonus stats, which again can be obtained from the auction house for enough gold, or from a specific NPC a certain number of times a week.

EDIT: Also pets, which the game will give you a few for free, but a lot of the good ones will require cash shop currency, and you will want all the storage options you can get.

it not really p2w imo and ya. even if it old. it is one of the best if not the best mmo imo. cause of all the content and features it have. nothing compare. and pretty much what guy said above about pets and storage. and maybe the dress tab or what it call if you care ofc lol.

Take it from someone with a cumulative level of 5400, pets, reforge kits, ANYTHING in that premium shop, DO JACK SHET, your core strength will come from ranking up skills to obtain the stat bonuses that come from ranking them, enchants, and renown levels with npcs like Eluned.

Yes, they give helpful bonuses but NOTHING in that shop is going to make you an OP Juggernaut no matter how much you buy.

I have been playing Mabinogi for over 12 years and have never bought a reforge tool from the cash shop and other players can sell them in their personal shop or in the Auction House for gold. As someone that has beaten every generation questline and reached end game I can't consider reforges pay to win when you don't need to buy them to beat the game.

You can play Mabinogi without spending anything and reach end game content. Only pvp players and hardcore raiders care about perfect reforges. All Gacha items, Reforges, and even pets can be purchased with in game gold from other players. Being a Fashionogi is probably the most expensive part of the game.

Mabinogi also gives out lots of potions like this for free in Events. I have even got potions that give 4x skill training xp from events before. Not pay to win at all, in fact is basically just a waste of money at this point unless you are desperate to progress faster. Mabinogi is a game of patience. Play the events and give it a little time and a lot of useful items like this will become free in events.

reforges are why you should uninstall the game. its the end game stuff that will require it more so and it is heavy paywall.

Doesn't appear that way on SteamDB. Seems like Mabi has had about the same number of players for awhile.

Yea the base mechanics carry it enough that a a decent few diehard players still play hoping for new updates to be good, while they do their best to ignore stuff like Novachrome mentioned.
