Staff Special Upgrades

Which would you use, red or blue stone? I guess my choice depends on if bluestones damage effects magic attack, or is it just the power of the staff as a weapon? I just want to upgrade my hermit staff

Blue stone indeed gives Magic attack on Staves and Wands, thus the majority of magic weapons are traditionally upgraded with Blue stones.

Red Stones are more indicated toward physical damage, whether it be ranged or close combat, and will instead directly increase critical damage.

A red stone on a magic weapon is not unheard of, but it's considered less efficient due to the way Magic Attack works.

If you have over 700 MATK, red.

Otherwise, blue.
