Best way to rank cooking?

So, I've been putting off learning an actual branch of life skills for a while now, and thought I'd start with cooking since it seems to be the least annoying to find materials for. Anyone mind directing me to a guide on the best way to train each rank or giving me some tips? Thanks.

If you don't have a food cart pet, definately get a well and cooking oven inside your homestead! It makes things a lot easier. Other than that it's just cook/eat whatever the skill is telling you to do. You can look up on the mabi wiki each cooking category (baking, boiling, etc) and scroll through to find what dish has the cheapest ingredients~
