Alt+Enter once in game should switch to window mode.

Option 2:
The setting to switch from window to full screen can be found in the menu in game, under change channel.

Cut Scene Crash (Will Not Fix For Every One)
This is for the Cut Scene Crash, including boss cut scenes, easy to try.

Secondary Password Reset
These are the steps for reseting your 2nd password for those having issues.
1. Reset your secondary password if you havent already, Mabi/vindictus use same process[support-vindictus.nexon.net] (replace step 3 with "Go to manage account").
-Or go HERE[mabinogi.nexon.net]
-Make certain you got the confirmation that its been reset as show in the instructions.
2. Log in as you normally would all the way to the secondary password screen (shown here)
-For steam this screen is right after clicking "Start Game".
3. Whatever password you first input will become your new secondary password (you may have to enter it twice to confirm, again no prompt), follow these rules...
- Your password must be between 6-16 characters in length.
- You cannot use your Nexon Account ID, and it cannot be the same as your primary account password.
- It must contain at least one letter and one number.

Tier 2 Fixes
These fixes can be less simple than tier one but should pose little to no difficulty. These fixes may be a bit more intrusive, requiring changing computer settings.

Disable Anti-Virus/Defender/Windows Firewall
Some times your anti-virus, firewall, or defender can block internet traffic for mabi, or delete files, or even pose permission issues, can also cause white screen issues. Defender is the least likely suspect.
Firewall:
1. Open Control Panel.
2. In top right corner, search for "firewall", open "Windows Firewall".
3. In left pane, click "Turn windows firewall on or off"
4. Turn all options to off

Defender:
1. Open Control Panel.
2. In top right corner, search for "defender", open "Windows Defender".
3. Click Tools, and then click Options.
4. Click Administrator, select or clear the Use this program check box, and then click Save.

Anti-Virus:
This differs depending on your personal anti-virus. Most of the time you can find its icon in your system tray, right click it and disable.

Add Mabi To DEP Exclusions List by This User
Publicado originalmente por Anime is haram:
...
1.Go to Control Panel
2.Go to System
3.Click on Advanced System Settings
4.Click Settings(it should be by Performance)
5.On the tabs click Data Execution Prevention
Now the next step requires you to know where the mabinogi installation folder is at.
Since you downloaded it off steam the default place is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Mabinogi
Now that you know where the Mabi is located head on to step 6.
6.When you are at Data Execution Prevention click on add. You need to look for the Mabinogi folder and open it.
7. Once inside look for client or client.exe and open it to add it.
8. Once you are done you can close everything and check if Mabinogi works.
The original Thread is HERE

Turn Off Mouse Trails
This fixes the issue of not seeing the curser in game.
1. Open control panel
2. Navigate to "Ease of Access Center"
3. Click on "Make the mouse easier to use"
4. Near the bottom, click on "Mouse Settings"
5. Navigate to "Pointer Options" tab
6. Uncheck "Display pointer trails"

Set UAC To Lowest Option
This is to avoid the "invisible" UAC popup when running mabinogi, think of it as just making sure its not an issue.
1. Open control panel.
2. Click on "User Accounts".
3. Click on "Change User Account Control Settings".
4. Slide all the way to bottom "Never Notify".

Tier 3 Fixes
These fixes are a bit more intrusive, requiring downloads, installs/uninstalls, or even driver changes.

Nexon Game Security
This problem will show itself more when all nexon games dont work, often mabi will not run, or show in task manager.
1. Install another Nexon game with Nexon Game Security(Or use one already installed).
2. Confirm that it runs correctly (might require restarting your computer, did for me).
3. Go to the nexon games installation directory and copy the BlackCipher folder to your desktop.
4. Go to your Mabinogi installation directory and rename that BlackCipher folder to BlackCipher-backup or something similar.
5. Move the BlackCipher folder you copied from MapleStory into the Mabinogi folder.

Mabinogi Black Everywhere (Not Crash, Not Frozen)
This was a known issue with windows 8+ and intel HD 4k graphics. This issue should have been fixed with more recent driver updates. Just in case I will post it.
Option One:
1. Download older driver for your graphics, something for windows 7.
2. Open File explorer, right click my computer/my pc, click manager.
3. In Manager, navigate using left pane, go to "Device Manager".
4. In right pane, double click "Display Adapters".
5. Right click your graphics device shown there, open "Properties".
6. Navigate to tab "Drivers", click on "Uninstall".
7. After finishes, reboot your computer.
8. Once you have rebooted, install the driver you downloaded from step 1.

Option Two:
Run using a different graphics option (only usable if you have a graphics card)

Option Three:
Opening the dressing room can temp fix issue.

Direct Launch is no longer supported
On March 22, 2017 Nexon removed the direct launcher option for Mabinogi, requiring you to run it through steam, or through Nexon Launcher.
Option A. Download Nexon Launcher Here[mabinogi.nexon.net].
Option B. Download Steam, then install Mabinogi through steam Here.

*This was just an idea i came up with for a general fixes/troubleshooting thread, information maybe outdated, misinterpreted, or even wrong at times, please give ideas for changes/additions, including but not limited to; New tiers. Tier changes. Description changes. Issue fixes. Issue changes. Fix changes. Issues (though without clear fix wont be posted).

HELP so i got a new laptop and its 4 gigs of ram windows 10 64bit yet when i reach the character selection screen and click start it crashes it says Mabinogi has stopped working. Any fixes
Theres a few things you can try, such as...
Wait a few minutes on character select (some people report this problem being the graphics taking a while to fully load up)
Select a pet/other character, then go back to your main and try logging in again

Um... I play the game on steam, but every time I log off, it says it's still running. Anything wrong with my computer, or are other people having the issue? Also, when I try to play again, steam says it's still running, so I can't.

I don't have mabi on steam but I came here for help. Whenever I try to launch mabi from the launcher, literally nothing happens..I've tried loading it from the folder, I've done the DEP stuff, tried compatability mode, run as admin, restart pc, even the default registration entries. Every single time nothing happens, I run on windows 8 with AMD radeon GPU, 6 GB RAM, and a 64-bit OS.

Have you checked to see if client or mabinogi is running in task manager?

Aside from that you might be missing files, but running without steam makes it hard to verify, even harder when its possible antivirus/firewall/or even permissions may be stopping certain files from installing without telling you.

Assuming its not file(s) missing, then i would assume permissions just because its windows 8 and its permission system is bonkers from what I remember.

Always best to make a new topic with support issues.

I was able to play mabi yesterday but today it won't load, and I've had task manager open everytime I try to play it to see If anything happens. Nothing does. On the launcher I had done the repair install or whatever it is.

There is another player that recently had an issue that sounds similar to yours and resolved it, look here to see if it can help you...
