how to get chain casting?

So i have a ice wand, have 34 proficiency on it and im looking to get the chain casting upgrade. However it still shows up as a ??? in the upgrades list. My wand is just a normal ice wand bought at stewarts shop and has 1 upgrade of elemental resenonce on it already.

No where have i found how to unlock or make available to me the chain casting, Someone able to help me here?

answers nothing, literaly says i should be able to upgrade it right now with chain casting.... I CANNOT!. anyone else?

What Omni was trying to show you is that the Chaincast upgrade unlocks on the 4th upgrade of the wand, so you have 2 more upgrades before you will see the chaincast upgrade become available.

ah ok, the wiki doesnt quite spell that out or say it in any understanding way. From what is written its more like the expect you to know more then you know. thank you, i've been holding off on upgrades because i didnt wanna waste them, but if thats what it takes i'll do it.

You're probably much better off getting a Savage Fire Wand, and upgrading it to have Chain Casting +4. Now with just a single charge you have a firebolt that's able to do massive amounts of damage depending on how high ranking Mage you are.

planned on getting a tribolt wand and setting it up. I wont get as high a damage out put but it will be more versatile because it can chain cast all 3 elements

To be honest, the only bolts worth CC are firebolt and lightning. And lightning is kind of situational...mostly just for quick clearing lower level content with fewer shots.

Icebolt I would never use on anything but a beginner's ice wand...CC icebolt eats your durability just way too fast, and between firebolt and lightning it doesn't...really have a purpose to be honest. It might have been decent for mana conservation, but mana is largely a non-issue these days.
