Ninja Crit rates?
I'm training the Sakura Abyss skill which has a long cool down of 300 seconds (5 mins) and I need criticals with the skill in order to train it. I've equiped the Starblade Shiruken which has a high critical chance and when I look in my stats it says I have 71.7% critical. I don't do criticals that often, maybe about 1 in every 10. Is there some sort of glitch going on? Is anybody else experiencing the same thing?

The rule of thumb states that if you desire a chance based event to happen for you, especially frequently, chances are, it will tell you to suck a ♥♥♥♥.

Keep at it, you'll get there.... eventually.

I hate training it too but it's lovely fighting mobs...

Crit rate for that skill is better when you're equalized. Meaning, instead of fighting raccoons, fight something that's a challenge and you'll crit more often. I had to do hardmode shadow missions for the crit rate for Sakura Abyss to happen more frequently.

Say, how are yeh enjoying the ninja skills? you doubted they'd arive, but now that they came, how do you think they hold up?

True I did and honestly, I'm disappointed. I hate that they give str instead of dex and will but my human isn't really complaining. It just doesn't benefit my elf though since elves in general, are terrible at combat. The skills are also tedious to rank up and shurikens actually have a chance of missing which is weird. Honestly, this is probably the worst talent we've ever gotten. It's not even standalone, requiring cooldown times for all the skills. So doing only this is not feasible at all. Just ranking it up on my human and giant. Elves still get shafted in the end, yaaaaay.

The final max chance to perform a critical hit is 30%. Even if you had 200% critical on the stat menu, you'd still cap out at a 30% chance.

The reason we can go higher than 30% on the stat menu is because of protection. Most skills are affected by protection when calculating critical chance: every 1% protection that the target has reduces your critical chance by 2%. Some skills, such as windmill and advanced magic, aren't affected by protection in this way but still cap out at a 30% chance.

Well, my elf seems to be fairing OK for combat. It's not absolutely mindnumbing power, but it's enough to show I don't ♥♥♥♥ around :P

I can do that with my range and magic. Waste of time doing it any other way tbh.
