Mabinogi game not launching.

It all started last Saturday when I tried to get mabinogi to launch via steam the game refuse to load up at all. This lasted a few days till I found out that nexon has created their own launcher so I download it and tried to access mabinogi through the nexon launcher and... Nothing again.

I contacted costumer support and they ask me a few questions but so far they are taking forever to get back to my problem. So I tried disabling my anti virus to see if that is the problem and still the same thing. Then I tried to uninstall it and reinstall it and now nexon launcher is refusing to load up. Have not reinstall it because it does not realize that I had it uninstalled.

Anybody else having this problem?

mabinogi has its own direct launcher. Simply navigate to mabinogi's root folder and run "mabinogi.exe" (may just appear as "mabinogi" depending on pc settings).

If you still have issues then attempting to run as admin, fixing up DEP settings, or verifying files may or may not help.

What do you mean by fixing up dep settings and verifying files?

DEP is a windows permissions setting.

verifying files is something you can do with a steam install, and theres a similar setting in nexon launcher.

I'm having the same problem, but when i click play the client will start and i can click "game start" but then there's just, nothing. i've done the DEP thing, and verified my files twice, restarted my laptop twice, and tried compatibility mode as well. I was just playing it last night and now it won't run at all. i have windows 8.

I heard that avg is the cause of the problem. How about you guys?

You already stated you disabled your anti-virus, so it cant be a problem with the anti-virus unless it didnt actually disable.
But with recent updates people who ran mabinogi WITHOUT disabling avg are finding they need to disable it.

I heard someone had to go as far as uninstalling it in order to get it to work.

I was having this problem too. Just disabled avg and now it's running.

And a work around has been found. Turns out that I had not completely turn off my anti virus software. I hope avg and nexon can get this resolve soon so I would have to do something risky like that again. Now to try and fix my tales of Zestiria problem.

You can also add the mabinogi folder to the exceptions list in your anti virus, which should allow you to run mabinogi without disabling your antivirus.

Tried that. I think I may need to add nexion client in the exceptions as well but could not locate the file.

The same thing happened to me, AVG was causing it, I am not using AVG any more. I had to completely uninstall it before Mabinogi would work.

That seems to be a tad extreme.
