what kind of gear should i keep an eye out for for end game?
I am looking for some kind of guide on how I should gear myself up, like best in slots for each skill sets, armors, enchants or even reforges. My personal preference is melee, magic, guns or alch. But being geared for chain blade or anything else would be very nice too, since i find myself not doing a whole lot of damage.

What server do you play in and what is your in game name? More people can help you out directly in game with this information.

I'll try to keep this as short as possible but there is a lot to cover so bare with me.
Assuming that you are human:

Melee:

Weapons: For the most part this is catering towards optimizing damage. Some enchants such as fortification I've included is more for defense. The type of armor is not necessarily important unless you really want the bonus sets some armors have such as attack speed. These posts were posted 2 years ago and as such I've made some adjustments as two handed swords are now viable and in some instances better than dual wielding with the final hit buff.

-Celtic Royal Knight Sword (x2)-
(Prefix: 56th Floor/Nightmare/Climactic)
(Suffix: 48th Floor/Black Fog/Absolute(Rank 4))
Reforge: Max Attack Power 8+, Fire/Ice/Lightning 3

-Fanatic GreatSword- (2 handed sword - much cheaper than below)
(Prefix: Silence)
(Suffix: 67th Floor)
Reforge: Fire/Ice/Lightning 6 or Max Attack Power 15+

-Divine Blade- (2 handed sword - extremely expensive)
(Prefix: Conqueror)
(Suffix: 67th Floor)
Reforge: Fire/Ice/Lightning 6 or Max Attack Power 15+

-Demonic Oculus Lance- (If you want to use lances)
(Prefix: Cartel/Secret)
(Suffix: 67th Floor)
Reforge: Max Attack Power 17+

Armor(Melee):

-Headgear- (To your preference)
(Prefix:Amnesia/Allegory/Oblivion)
(Suffix: Chorus/Tournai/Resistance)
Reforge: Final Hit Cooldown 17+

-Bodygear- (To your preference)
(Prefix: Longlasting/Knocking/Oblivion)
(Suffix: Heroic/Champion/Fortification)
Reforge: Final Hit Duration 15+

-Gloves- (To your preference)
(Prefix: Burlesque/Solo/Steel Needle [CD Gloves Only])
(Suffix: Backbreaking/Sandglass)
Reforge: Combat Mastery Max Damage 18+

-Shoes- (To your preference)
(Prefix: Burlesque/Solo)
(Suffix: Symbolic/Butterfly/Camo)
Reforge: Chainsweep Damage 15+ or Shooting Rush 15+ & various others. (This reforge slot is not a core reforge and therefore is not required.)

-Accessories- (Don't sweat this one too much as enchants for max damage for these are very expensive. Substitute whatever you feel you need here)
(Prefix: Oblivion/Creepy/Steel Needle)
(Suffix: Avenger/Fierce/Haunted)
Reforge: Max Attack Power 3

-Thanks to OblivionRD on /r Mabinogi for this post. Edited some things in as power scaling has shifted some gear.

Guns:

You can basically have the same set as above for your armor.
The type of gun that you get is based on your preference.
Your reforge should be max gun damage.

Magic:

There's not exactly a dedicated set for magic but here are some options to consider. This post is 2 years old also but for the most part is still relevant.

Option 1: Hebona Set with 10 Firebolt Enhancement(10 Icebolt is just for the meme fusion bolt). This set will give you an increase in sustained DPS with chain-casted firebolt (your magic sustained DPS skill). Get a 10 set and just go to town with vivace and your choice of an Ego Firewand or Celtic Tribolt Want (Red 7).

Option 2: This is my favorite of the two. Your armor is Karis Wizard Suit (4 Mana Usage Reduction) and shoes are Karis Wizard Shoes (4 Mana Usage Reduction). Through production quality increases, you can actually get an extra point on each piece, giving you 10/10 set for mana reduction on two articles of clothing! You helmet would then be as good of a Languhiris Chaser Circlet you can get for magic atttack, and your gloves are the pricey Rosemary Gloves. The rosemary gloves grant 15% increased Ice damage, so ice bolt (and fusions), ice spear, and meme-storm are all powered up. Having a mana reduction set bonus also gives an increase in efficiency for mana-shield so you're slightly tankier too.

Take your pick of the two. For enchantments, just go to the wiki and find whatever gives the most magic attack for each piece. If you choose option 1, perhaps you may want to try and get a 10 reduction in mana usage. There are several enchantments which provide enhancements for this set.

These sets are for complete mage bound players. Just focusing on upgrading your weapons to get as high of a magic attack as you can and using melee armor is completely fine. Magic damage in Mabinogi caps out rather quickly and easily compared to other skill sets.

Some weapons to consider:
Celtic Tribolt Wand
Celtic Guardian Staff (If you feel like party healing)
Celtic Druid Staff (A little more magic attack than guardian staff and can reduce mana usage by 30%)

-Thanks to Hymmnos on /r Mabinogi for this post. Added some notes for non mage mains.

Alchemy:

This post is also again from 2 years ago but is mostly relevant as alchemy has not had any major changes since then.

You mostly need a good cylinder, cress set with good enchants and max enhancement for your chosen element, also go for the red upgrades for crit damage. I'll break it down piece by piece:

Cylinder: Depending on which element you main you want to focus on getting a good cylinder with that. Demonic Abyss and Hellfire are good for water and fire respectively. There's quite a few floating around with r1 reforge already on them in Alexina. They aren't that expensive so I'd definitely pick one up.

When you get one, the first thing you want to do is give them good enchants. (For the Abyss, remove Moist, its good but the repair cost is outrageous. You can replace it with something like Ripple.) The Hellfire comes with Synergy sometimes, which is pretty good. I use Magma as a suffix enchant for mine. These enchants usually aren't expensive.

For reforges you mostly want to go with Fire Alch/Water Alch Damage.

Cress Set: You mostly want a Cressida set that adds up to 10/10/10 combining all 3 pieces. (Glove/Shoes/Outfit) Depending on your element you want to enchant this differently. For clothes: Seething/Ripple is pretty good for water alch, I'm not quite sure what'd be ideal for fire alchemy. For shoes: Hot Foot and Cowboy are decent. Gloves: I believe spark is viable. A good enhancement cress shouldn't run you that much, I bought the outfit alone which is r1 and pre-enchanted for about 20 mil which is just a price estimate.

Good 2nd Titles for Alch: Prof J and Halloween Party. (Prof J I rarely see, but Halloween Party can be bought for less than 10mil usually.)

Lastly, you want to build up crit. Since alchemists don't require headgear you can be flexible and add vine or other crit based enchants if you don't have enough. As stated already, aside from this you want to cap out on your stats.

The gear isn't that expensive to get, however you may have a hard time obtaining it. Most damage comes from enchants/reforges, which can be easily gotten or come with the equipment.

-Thanks to Reka-R on /r Mabinogi for the post.

Chain Blade: With high multipliers in the skills, a super dedicated gear for chain blade is not necessary unless you really want to dish out as much damage as possible.

Weapons: Cutthroat (Sufficient and cheap), Celtic Howling (Expensive)
(Prefix: Untamed/Artful)
(Suffix: Crocodile/Fierce/Twilit Moon)
Reforge: Chain Blade Master Max 15+

-Head- To your preference
Reforge: Chain Burst Duration 15+

-Body- To your preference
Reforge: Spinning Slasher Damage 15+

-Gloves- To your preference
Reforge: Chain Impale Damage 15+

-Shoes- To your preference
Reforge: Chain Sweep Damage 15+

-Accessories-
Reforge: Death Mark Duration 15+ / Dorcha Conversion Leeched Dorcha 3 / Dorcha Conversion Cooldown 3

If you're just using chain blade on the side don't sweat it too much with the reforges on the armors. Melee armor tiered towards final hit is sufficient.

Congratulations on making it this far! There is a lot to absorb when dealing with end - game gear but really in the end it's up to you to decide what you want to do.
Utilize the wiki to mix and match reforges and enchants you want to use and can afford.

Exactly what i have been looking for, but with egos update just around the corner, i will hold off on getting the weapons. It's good to know armor reforge meta is still about the same as it used to a couple years ago, cause i have got those already. Guess i will have to work on the enchants next.

Feel free to add me here or in-game if you have any further direct questions. And yes for the most part armor meta is pretty standard where as weapons are more important.
