MUSIC IS ALL GONE??? (TEMP FIX AVAILABLE)

After the recent patch of Mabinogi, the music does not sound at all. I checked the game files, and there were less than 100 mp3 files (which used be over 300). WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NEXON??? WHERE ARE THE MUSIC??? DID YOU DELETE IT???

Possible Solution:
1. Go to Mabinogi's Game Cache files
2. Right click on mp3 folder and go to Properties
3. Go to Security tab and press Advanced
4. Disable the inheritance
5. Deny all access to "write" except You, Administrators, and Users

Yeah, there seems to be a ton of BMG music missing after todays update. Nexon stated on the official forums that they are aware of today's issues after the update and are working to resolve the issue. For now, I'm just listening to music streams from Youtube.

@Shoog Same to me too. Also I have 25 Music downloaded on my phone, so just gonna listen to that also. (Rather play Vindictus, Mabinogi's prequel.)

Update! I was told to do a 'repair install' to the game to see if that will fix the BGM files. I'm going to give it a shot.

EDIT: Well, doesn't look like it's working for me yet. Steam shows that there are 330ish files missing. I tried fixing the game files twice and each time Steam showed those files were missing and supposedly downloaded the missing files, but once I logged in there's still no BGM. Hopefully things will be fixed for us soon.

Same to me too. That also happened yesterday, no matter on how many times I redownloaded and repaired the files.

Edit: I found out that whenever you repair the files, you seem to download all music correctly. However, after the launch of Mabinogi, music seems to disappear. Probably set music to read-only?

URGENT: TEMPORARY FIX FOUND.

I've tried this fix but it doesn't seem to work for me. Am I missing a step? I'm on Windows 7 (though I'm not sure if that even makes a difference). It works, in a sense, that it prevents the files from being deleted when the client starts up, but once I'm in game I still can't hear the starting screen music nor music in Dunbarton.

EDIT: So, after making numerous attempts at the fix, I finally gave up. I logged back on after changing the settings for the mp3 folder back to normal without the fix, logged on, and somehow the music BGM is working. I'm scared that if I close the client and relaunch it, then it might not work again lol.

Thanks for the fix! I mght test it out a bit more to see why my BGM started working after all those faile attempts.

I actually got through talking to nexon about the issue and they replied saying that they have no control over the mabinogi game files downloaded on steam and that theres nothing they can do. They advised me to ditch the steam version and stick with nexon launcher and frankly I might just end up doing that again.

Mabinogi Background Music Broken (Possible Solution)

Since their recent update Mabinogi no longer has background music for npc's or towns and when ya verify files theres always 318 files lost and steam won't repair it like it doesn't like the files being downloaded. Apparently the files missing has something to do with the bgm being permanantly muted except in character choice screen and your homestead. Contacted nexon about it and they said theres nothing they can do to fix their game on steam and with the next update being who knows when its bound to be endless silence in the world of mabinogi. Is there anyway to fix this, is this gonna be fixed, or is the only solution to forget the steam version and go with the nexon launcher version? Anyone else got this issue?

Anyone found a solution yet? Its getting too quiet in mabinogi and I miss hearing the great music in it.

I'm gonna try installing mabinogi via nexon launcher and copy the music files from that into steam which is one thing I haven't tried. I'll let ya'll know if it works being the installation files appears after checking them before to be the same! Besides, I don't know about you guys but I like to be able to play my game and still talk to people at the same time instead of switching apps to chat with friends on steam.
