There seems to be a time loop indicated by mural from release trailer and one of the endings. The said mural's beginning and end connect seamlessly.
Void lords seem to be missing an organ which causes them to have a certain defect (or sin from human point of view). Some examples are:
Gray is Add? Also, Erasure from Zer0Ranger is Gray (as seen in trailers)???
All void lords' names are a part of Christian demon's names:
Core of DIS (also what Lev seems to call Devnam Indra Sakram) seems to be the true final boss from Zer0Ranger. How does it connect to this story? Nobody knows.
The manusya from VoidStranger true ending speak the language which you have NOT chosen, indicating that they are not from the same planet as VoidStranger original cast.
Speaking of the manusya, you may have noticed that sometimes term manusya is used and sometimes human is used. Why? While unconfirmed, it's most likely because there are more than one manusya/human civilizations, and those who know that use the term manusya (like Zero Judge), and those who don't know that use the term human (like the void lords (except for Add) and the weird white lady statue from the white void (post 255 branes)).
Speaking of the white lady statue, she quite resembles Lev and a certain scientist from the carcass ending (when you remove B# tile) and the last memory you get from collecting all memory shards.
On the subject of Lev, when she merges with the comet in true ending, you can see memories seeping through the cracks of the comet. What does this imply? It's really hard to say. When merged Lev is defeated, for one single frame, a skull flashes across the screen. It's not normal human skull, but with a thrid eye and horns. If you've played Zer0Ranger, you might recall a certain skull like that.
There's probably more which I currently cannot remember now - this is a rather deep rabbit hole with no conclusions.
Speaking of weird Add stuff: if you enter your brand in any of the 6x6 rooms, you are met with a uterus-like thing/machine. Hit it exactly 24 times in a row, and once again the silhouette of Add is shown before crashing the game.
Each character has a different reaction to the thing/machine, with Gray's being "a familiar warmth". I forgot the others. (Also, don't forget that Gray, and possibly Add, are missing a uterus)
Cif has some notable interaction with things you have already interacting with other characters, including the murals, rocks and trees.
For murals, she always wonders why did Add write such a thing.
For rocks, she will dismiss them as she is tired of listening to them.
For trees, she will call them "Lotus-eater machines" (i suggest you Google that trope)
For screens behind cracked murals, she will refer to them as "remote memory units".
But, one more interesting interaction occurs if you interact with a mural while disabling her sphere/memory burden. She will wonder why she can't read it and think that it may be due to "faulty EPR receptors" (whatever those are).
All around the castle you can see the symbolism of stars and lotus flower, something explained a bit in one of backstory cutscenes, but also having a lot of ties to Zer0Ranger story.
Void lords seem to be able to roam the planet only and only if there's a solar eclipse being in progress. This can be see in Johann's flashback and the dream in which they take Lily away.
Johann's name means "Yahweh is generous" in Hebrew.
Lily looks like a certain major boss from Zer0Ranger.
There's probably more. Don't ask me how I know...
In the dev room zone, after you enter the eclipse , you can move the stairs away from the cif statue and enter them using the wings. This leads to a secret jigsaw puzzle!
On a normal run, visit Gor without the sword and chat with them. Maybe try showing off the rod in front of them too. Afterwards, warp back to before their room and re-enter. Bee will be there and say they 'moved' Gor so they'd stop blabbing secrets. Upon entering the next room, you should notice one of the pits has "stink lines" coming from it. The nearby egg will even comment on it. Entering will lead to A bonus area where you have to drop down pits hinted at by the location of enemies. At the end you'll fight a boss, and after that you'll find a strange pile of... something?
That trailer scene happens before Gray ever enters the Void, it's pretty clear that Erasure is the ZERO Judge - they speak the exact same, look the exact same (her mask is explicitly based on the Erasure Fighter), and notes the entire reason that she helped Gray and Lillie along was because Lily "reminded her of somebody".
Because we shot it and Despair down at the beginning of time before it was able to leave the galaxy. Thus, Despair never assimilated it, Despair never destroyed the stars, and Despair never killed the onions.
Which is why the comet shows up in the first place, and why the Void is born.
She has a much closer resemblance to Gray in the final FIN image. Something heavily supported by the lady being referred to as Ab___on in the game files.
...what are you even talking about?
In the shoot 'em up section of true ending, when you reach certain point, Lev merges with the comet sprouting tentacles and having 6 orbs which you need to destroy. Behind her you can see white circle particles seeping through the cracks of the comet. These particles share the look of memory particles, being white and having a quick fading gradient at the end.
This may not sound like it's obscure knowledge, but the vast majority of players don't seem to realise that.
Oh, right. Lev did mention she can freely access memory states at that point, so I guess that would be it.
There's also something I know folks will have missed - being Voided affects the music. It doesn't affect Cif's first track as far as I can tell, but being Void (for any playable character) will pitch the music down by a couple Hertz. I personally feel it's easy to spot with Affection Air, the track that plays in the second stratum of levels (ie Tail/Eus's domain) since it's got those guitars at the start, but it affects a lot of tracks in the main game.
The first hint you get towards Gray being Add comes right at the start of the game; the statue before the rod appears to depict someone wearing the same pendant as Gray.
The only things that prevented Lev from accessing DIS without external help is that the seals and the statue on 000 are hidden from the void lords, and the rock that would give one the knowledge they need to be able to break the seal without seeing it was hidden away in Cif's brand room, possibly by Cif. If you already meet the conditions for the upgraded rod as Cif and attempt to claim it, you'll get a scene indicating that Lev beat you to it.
There is a floor for each of the void lords on the path to DIS after all the puzzles. Based on dialogue and the scene I mentioned prior, DIS attempts to summon each of the void lords in turn upon these floors being reached to defend itself as a last resort, and this is how Bee, Mon, Lev and Cif are able to get here in the true ending. Mon and Tan's floors notably are shaped in a way resembling the arenas in which you fight them. Additionally, all of these floors save Tan's have statues of them, and the last floor has statues of all the lords save Tan; this is because these statues would have immediately self destructed upon entering the floor.
The NPC that shows up in Cif's story will not show up again without wiping your save after completing their interactions. They also show up in the room where you fight Mon if you enter there as Gray, but will not show up if you've already completed their interactions as Cif.
The ninja is the only lost soul you can encounter who does not appear in the true end credits. Johann's face is the only face that shows up in the true end credits in what is otherwise the Lillie NPC lineup that isn't a wandering soul. This probably suggests Johann was originally going to show up as a wandering soul instead of the ninja, but I can't imagine a lot of people would choose not to summarily execute him instead of hearing what he has to say.
You can enter different brands than the one for the circle you're in in the relevant rooms, and the upgraded rod provides even more freedom for what you can enter. However, even then, there are still heavy restrictions on what you can enter based on number of available tiles, and irremovable statues in the corners. While every conflict would be a very long list, two notable examples are that you cannot enter DIS's crest anywhere but the ninth circle, as every other room with a destructable tile has a statue in a corner, and that you can enter Add's crest in the ninth circle without using breakable tiles or the upgraded rod.
In "Cif's Challenge" mode, if you wait out the whole timer without moving, you get an F grade with an intentionally poorly drawn image of Cif falling down the stairs.
If you kill Tail after hearing her whole story and leaving and coming back, Bee will show up on the next floor in place of her statue to talk to you about it. Bee will not show up either here or on Gor's floor for Lillie.
If you talk to Gor without the sword as Lillie, and show her the rod, both conversations are extremely funny, and do not result in Gor giving Lillie a hint about the sword location. Bee will still move Gor after this interaction, however.
Lillie's version of the game being harder is implied to be a result of her not having a strong devotion. Similarly, being voided doesn't cause her to be unable to reach the end because she doesn't have a devotion for Lev to corrupt.
As far as I can tell, every standard numbered floor as both Gray and Lillie is designed to be solvable without any items other than the base rod. Lillie's story without sword or wings is drastically harder than the DIS puzzles or the ones leading to Mon. I am unsure if this also extends to memory crystals on numbered floors, but most appear to also be obtainable under these conditions.
In addition to not letting you enter any taken brand, the game will also not let you enter a single tile brand.
There are strange creatures that appear on certain floors based on a hidden "justice" stat.
I have to ask: who is this ninja NPC? (Please don't say that it's the Nun)
For some other details:
Gray is never seen talking in her run only util the final ZERO Justice court (where she saves Lillie). And by seen, I literally mean seen: her interactions are always denoted in brackets, unlike when playing as Lillie or Cif where they have a picture and actually say the words.
In the final Gray dream, Johann exclaims that he is going to be the future emperor of this waking world. The only other instance where this phrase occurs is when engaging the carcass ending as Gray or Lillie: "And so you'll leave this waking world..."
I also noticed that Gray never seems to talk, with the assurance that she IS conveying information. It's made more interesting with the reveal later on that Gray's native language doesn't match that of the "modern" setting. The part in the true ending would explain why she only started talking in front of the judges - they have universal translators. The language barrier might be hinted at with the nun asking if she believes in *** - it's admittedly a stretch, but assuming that the nun is talking about that, "god" might not exist as a proper term in Gray's native language. Or if it does, it's a different word that she wasn't aware of. Though of course, there could just be a personal reason from the devs why "god" was blipped out like that.
