Should I do a full restart?

So I managed to beat the game with Gray and I am assuming I am in this mythical Hard Mode because oh boy is everything hard. Currently on B026.

However there were a number of puzzles/secrets that I did not yet solve and memory crystals that I didn't get in my run with Gray. Trying to figure them out while in Hard Mode just seems like a recipe for pain. So I am half tempted at deleting my save just so I could revert to easy mode so I can continue to work on the puzzles.

Is this a reasonable thing to worry about? Or will things just work out. Most of the secrets just seem like tools to make the easy run easier. But they might reveal more information about the game. Or give hints to other game mechanics.

And I somehow doubt that if I skip some of those items in the Gray run that they'll be available in Hard Mode... Not sure thats a bargain I want to make as they will make solving the secrets easier. Or maybe they are available, just somewhere else.

You don't need to delete the save file or anything. You can unlock the itemes in both modes, but if you really want to play as gray to get items more easily (believe me, you will play as her again in a later run so you don't have to), but you can kill yourself if you're in hp mode and if this little thing asked you to give up, then give up and you will "restart". But with brands in the beginning and a kind of "character select", you'll understand what i mean. If you're "voided" and don't know how to die completely. use the black statue with three eyes + stair combo to reset to level 1 and then die and give up.

Even if it's harder, you still could try to get the items in hard mode. (you will have them forever) The game is way longer then you think it is.

It was precisely because I got to the room where you get one of the items and it was an empty chest. I then proceeded to spend 15 minutes trying to remember how to escape that room without the hint the item would had given me. Least I found a hint on the forum to jog my memory of what the solution for that room was.

But thanks for that reply. I'll continue to press onward then. Maybe I'll figure out one of my unsolved puzzles on my way down.

If you got the item as Gray, then you won't be able to get it on your current hard mode run.
If you die and give up, you'll get a way to choose which mode you play and the option to start with the items you found before.
