How do I leave a voided game without access to the "regular way" ?
So when I started the game I pretty much died instantly and discovered the void mechanic, and my first though was "ok but how do I restart if I can't die", so I decided to experiment with it.I force killed myself a bunch of times in a row and discovered that after enough times the game does not reset straight away, showing you a screen where your character crumbles on the floor, and if you wait for a few seconds without pressing anything the little "void bat" appears again, allowing you to restart a regular run. (Also something interesting happens to your character that might be related to a puzzle or not, please don't tell me).
Of course by playing the game regularly I then learned of an other way of leaving the void : entering a staircase placed under a black statue.

Now I'm way further in the game and I discovered the secret passage under room 193 and the bonus levels that it leads to if you have the right items. I played a few levels, lost my remaining lives, but instead of just reseting the game as I usually do I don't know why but a little voice in my head went "ok but would I be able to leave a voided state even from here or am I somehow "hidden" from the void bat here" ? And sure enough, I've been killing myself dozens of time in a row and I can't get than damn screen to appear again ! And obviously there is not a single black statue to be seen here, and even if there was you can't use your staff in any of these rooms.

So I'm left with a question : is it really a lore thing, like the little bat can't see me here and I'm just doomed to finish this gauntlet of fairly hard levels, or did I never truly understand what makes the void bat appear again when you're voided, it's not as simple as just dying several times in a raw and I'm just not meeting the requirements ?
There is so much other cool things I want to try in other places and I don't want to be doing theses levels right now, I'd rather do them later. I'm not gonna lie if the game does not allow me to restart I would consider this to be the first major mistake of game design in this otherwise incredible game, in my opinion. (even though yes, I was warned by the egg not to enter the hole, I know I know.)

As you may have guessed I'm very spoiler averse so the only questions I would like answered are these, with simple yes/no answers : Can I leave the voided state and restart a game now without access to a black statue, or is it really a thing that in these hidden parts of the game you simply cannot ? And If so am I stuck because I did not actually understand how to make the void bat appear again and it's not just about killing yourself enough times in a row ? (Please don't tell me what the mechanics are in this case I want to figure them out myself, unless it's something very basic and random like "you have to be voided for at least X minutes before.)

Thanks in advance for the help !

the game is very restrictive about letring you start a new game. if you are voided, can't find a black statue, and have already self-destructed and revived yourself insread of becoming a rock, i believe that scene only shows once per B level. you'll have to get to the next before you can self-destruct again.

Thanks for the answer !

The thing is I have not self destructed and revived myself instead of becoming a rock in these levels yet. I have exhausted my locusts, revived to be "voided" once, but now I just can't get the second revive option to appear. I've even solved a few levels and tried getting it to appear again on different floors, to no avail. No idea if this a bug, maybe I'll message the devs later to see if they have a clue.

When I was experimenting with the "restart while voided" mechanic earlier it did seem fairly inconsistent to me though, the amount of times I had to kill myself seemed to vary, that's why I suspect there may be something else to the mechanic. Do you think that's all there is to it ?

For me the mechanic required to quit/restart the game for it to kick in. It can be the case - though a good chance it's just a bug.
I'd suggest trying to do a couple dozen of self-destructs after freshly opening the game just to be sure, and if it won't help then report it in the bug thread.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I've tried restarting as you've described and quitting via the menu to no avail, but I'll give it another methodical go !
If it ends up just being a bug then I'm glad, they are to be expected from such a small team and easily forgivable. And I really wouldn't understand why it'd be an intended mechanic, as I completely fail to see what it would bring to the experience, unlike any of the other unusual and clever restrictions this game spins on the puzzle game genre.

Edit : It turns out I had decided to really commit to find a way to restart just two levels before the first exit out of this section, the final level being trivial. So yeah I decided to solve it and I guess I'm just out the regular way and can find a black statue now.

Since this section was pretty short it may be intended after all (to keep you from missing the "hints" before the first exit maybe?), but in this case I think the game should at least replace the rock screen with a message clearly stating that you have to proceed and cannot restart at this moment.

Edit II : After not even 10 quick deaths once out of this area, the death screen that lets you restart appeared, so I'm even more convinced that it was intended. Also it made me realize that the void bat never appears on this second restart after all, I was misremembering it I guess, sorry if it made my point confusing.
