Does anyone have a hint for B217?

The floor with two handeyes/beholders that need to be killed for the statues to open up a way through.
Do I even need to kill the monsters?

I'm in this same room, also stuck.

I think that we're supposed to put a set of 3 horizontal squares under the lower hand so we can kill it with the statue and then push the statue to the top to kill the 2nd hand but I'm not 100% sure.
