Fishing doesn't work?

I started not too long ago and got a quest to go fishing. I have been in multiple rooms and only one time have any fish show up for me to harpoon. Do I seriously have to wait 10 minutes for a slim chance to harpoon fish!?

Yes, the fish spawn interval will not change, however, more people in the fishing boat means a larger amount of fish each time they spawn. I recommend throwing/hitting the barrels on the boat out into the water and practicing hitting them with the harpoon while waiting for the fish to come.

Or you could buy fishing rods, kind of a waste of money though, makes it kinda faster. You can also just buy the fish off the marketplace, much easier if you don't like fishing.
