Windows 10 and Vindictus.

Recently isntalled Windows 10, and since then the game will not launch. I start it from Steam or from the folder and I see the hackshield starting in the corner and in the middle and nothing happens. I checked my task manager and i still see Vindictus running and it will not end the task.

I have tried running as admin and compatibility mode..... Any help?

Well, one of the steps helped, probably starting srcds first before launching the game. It should be noted that the Vindictus process hangs even if you close it out. Can't seem to close it from task manager, only signing out from your account or restarting your computer will do the trick.

Restarted my computer, doesn't seem like Vindictus wants to start anymore.

Yeah but apperently the game uses IE and settings in IE to connect the client to internet. What i read somewhere so.
I just wrote down what i did to get it to work.

You could use uncheck allow scripting in browser (ie) and (other) in Internet options --> advance --> tab: browsing
Still works here. Even after reboots etc.
Just remembered that i did use to uncheck these on both systems.

I have a problem, when I close the game Vindictus, my mouse stopped works,
I had removed USB and put again for works. Someone knows how solves it?

you just help me/us a lot, I try using debugger to remove hackshield but his protected by Themida[www.oreans.com], for people that have problem with cpu burning like srcds take 20-40% cpu... download and open Process Hacker is 2.34 (r5828)[processhacker.sourceforge.net] find process name srcds.exe right click, click to Threads, right click again to srcds.exe + 0x[and some random string] and click suspend, remember to close Process Hacker before launch to Vindictus, if you install with kprocesshacker, stop the service first...

Got it to work on both my systems. I had two windows 10 installs and got it to work with one, so try the fix on the other one and i think i got it nailed now:

These are the steps i did to get it to work on Windows 10.
(I'm an computer engineer and never saw a crazier fix then this but if it works right )

Reboot first to make sure vindictus isn't running in the background:
1. Go to your internet options --> tab: connections --> LAN settings --> uncheck: "detect settings automatically"
2. Go to the game folder, open folder "HShield" and delete folder "asc"
3. In the same folder right click "hsupdate.exe" and run as administrator (screen pops up in the right corner and goes away again. This is what it did with me to)
4. Now go to the game folder and right click "srcds.exe" --> "run as administrator" (if al goes well it doesn't do anything. I got an error the first time i clicked this, but if you follow the steps again it shouldn't do anything or start anything)
5. right click "vindictus.exe" run as administrator

This did the trick for me. i got it reproduced on my second machine. I did one of the steps and that didn't work. Did them in this order and that worked.

Maybe extra: i tried so much so maybe this is part of the solution to.
In windows 10 in "Explorer" right click the exe and choose "fix combitibility issues"
start the problem solver and choose the bottom option to set it your self.
Check 2 options:
"Run with elevated rights" and "this program worked in an earlier version of Windows"
Choose Windows XP (SP3)
Test it and say that it solved your problem. Reboot and try the steps again.

I used the combatibility fix on: "Vindictus.exe" and "hsupdate.exe"

I really hope i nailed it with this one for you guys to.

Tried your solution it works, but after a while i receive the Hshield error and game forced shut down. Any advice?

Windows 10 Build 10130, seems is impossible for me, I can't find solution how solve it with Vindictus. :/ Keep crash random few seconds/minutes. Max that I can is 10min I think.

10130 here as well, game launches but I'm also getting the Hshield error.

how do you update to 10158 saw it came out today but my updates are not finding it lol

The game kept crashing every 1-10 minutes, still haven't created a character. I'm updating to 10580 right now but I doubt it'll make a difference. One can only hope.

10158 is fine, only 1 problem is same as Build 9926, need open first srcds.exe (open administrator) then open vindictus normally. No crashed anymore. And close the game, mouse stopped work. k. At least is best than 10130.

Agreed, the game doesn't crash anymore but, like the previous poster said, the game makes the mouse hang (need to take it out and put it back in to get it to work).
