Vindictus

Why no one should play Vindictus
This game is a huge scam, anything in the depot is rigged to make you want to buy more (impossible to prove so spend all you want and find out). The lag in Vindictus is unplayable most times. People complain about lag in a lot of games but in Vindictus it makes it impossible to play. The game has numerous errors and random crashes and freezes (on a daily basis). If you are new to Vindictus I HIGHLY recommend finding a new game to play. Vindictus is not exactly a pay-to-win game, but it is definately a pay-to-compete game once you reach the higher levels. When people ask me if Vindictus is a good game I tell them it is definately an addicting game, but unless you plan on dumping hundreds of dollars into the game, it is seriously not worth the effort. People can argue with me all they want, I only want to save new players the trouble and urge them to find a new game to play. This is the only review I have ever posted for ANY game I have ever played in my lifetime. I hope that shows how strongly I want to save people the trouble.

no your full of ♥♥♥♥, the only thing i can see someone paying for is runes and inner armor but those aren't even required to progress, aside from that when s3 comes alot of the grinding problems are gonna be fixed

In theory the new system of loots with season 3 sounds like it'll be less grindy, but in practice it'll be just as grindy, if not more. The low-tier materials to craft level 90 gear (which only makes it slightly better, in some cases worse than level 80 gear) will be more common, but the high grade will be rare (about as rare as current season 2 rares are) and the stats it provides will have RNG values, so you might not even get the stats you were looking for at first.

Also, the disgusting amount of power-creep going on with the new gears as well as the new Rank 7 scrolls, skill upgrade runes, etc.. will make season 3 the biggest cash grab to-date.

Not trying to bash on it, really. I want the game to do well, but I will call this ♥♥♥♥ for what it is. Far too many people have fallen for this whole idea that season 3 is going to be less grindy, but if you want top-of-the-line gear, it's going to be more grindy than anything you've even experienced so far.
eh all things considered when s3 comes out all 80 gear will be craftable more easily with the update to seal shop and yeah the low tier mats can be changed and switched with higher tier ones from what updates have shown so they make it easier to get lv 90 armor, though i dont think most people will go for top gear so i don't think it'll be so bad, i get what your saying , but i'm just being positive about it

The game is great. I love the fast action reaction based gameplay, very fun.
However..
The game is unplayable with lag ~20-30% of the time.
It's blatently obvious why too - hackers.
Hackers and botters.
Botting hackers.

Check the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boats, naked lvl 30+ lanns insta-killing teleporting speedhacking on every boat.
I've reported it several times, uploaded two videos of it on youtube.
One copy-paste response from support.

Do not support this game, bail now or don't start playing.
Economy and server stability are both dominated by the botting hackers, ruins the game.

This, seriously ever hour, on the hour, lag for days, quests for days and having to wait for the server to proceed on those quests makes quest turnins take way too long. Then there is the frequent crashes every few boats when loading into or hosting a boat.

Love playing, almost 80 but seriously the lag on the hour issue has been around since 2011 so they cant have any intention of fixing the issue, it's been four years now.

I wouldn't say the game is a scam.

However, it is a very shallow game. The gameplay is nice, but that's about it. That's actually a pity considering that the game could have had so much more depth.

In regards to your depot comment. Isn't that more of a personal issue? Have some more self-control, seriously.

You can get all the gear you want, good luck getting it to +10 or enchanted with anything good without spending money. I can go get any gear I want without spending money, all it takes is time, but if you want to compete you are going to need to spend money. Most likely a lot of money if you want the best enchants or high enhancements. Or don't and destroy your item.

I've paid a total of about $40 while playing Vindictus, at least $10 of that was on cosmetic stuff. I have a top level 21k attack/11k def Hurk, so clearly you don't need to spend 'hundreds' of dollars to get anywhere on this game, it's much more a matter of time and how much you're willing to give this game.

The game servers aren't exactly the most stable things in the world, so every once in awhile things slow down to a crawl. Despite that, at it's core this is a very satisfying game, join a group with a good host and the hours will vanish.

Well the thing is 21k att, 11k def on a Hurk is not that much, I mean you can reach those stats with a +11/12 weapond and with some proper enchants, still you didn't say how much time it took you to get to those stats, also you could of very well been extreamly lucky, or had friend that helped you out. This game is a pay to win and you know it, if you pay all the gear you got in a minimum of 6 months he can get in 1 day just with a swipe of a ''Visa''.... Please don't lure more people in this already dead game.

I have been playing Vindictus(EU) for a long time (4-5 years, with on and off periods) , and I can say this:

Pros:

-Fun game. (the first month or so)

-Well made PvE.

-Interesting boss mechanics.

-Responsive characters controlls. (solo mode)

-It has professions.

-The devs put events periodically.

-Community driven marketplace.

-Player to player trade. (using the mail in game)

Cons:

- You need optic fiber internet, 100mb simetric connection or superior. (for hosting and stable connection even if you're not hosting)

- You need a decent PC.

- Most of the important raids and instances have to be hosted by a player.

- Raids and instances hosted by Nexon are extreamly laggy.

- Extreamly repetitive at end game.

- Events force you to play about 8 hours a day to get the reward if you are not in a guild or have a full party, and are very repetitive, ej: getting a ''ticket'' for killing a boss, up to 20-30 tickets per day)

- The game has an extreme pay to win system.

- PvP is painfully unbalanced. (p2w system mainly, but also because of the lack of balance between classes)

- Almost unexsistent player support. (in game)

- Very slow game update rate.

- Alot of bugs and server issues. (NA/EU)

- Very bad NPC interaction system while questing for leveling. Ej: You have to go trough painfully large sequence of text windows wich can't be skiped.

- Very hard to level up by urself past a certain level, imposible once you are done with the quest line, wich will happend 10 to 20 levels before max level (level 90).

- Very low game population, (2016) there are more players when there is an event with good rewards, but it drops down again when it's over. (about 1000 to 2000 players in normal circumstances, and about half of those will be doing their raids and stuff with their guild/friends)

- You can't do nearly anything solo, unless you are very well geared, and then you will still take more time to do most things than with a group.

- Players will kick you if you don't have enaugh stats for certain instances and raids, wich makes it extreamly unfriendly to new players, and very hard to gear up.

- Extreamly low drop chances for all the important items you need to craft your gear, or sell the items for profit, and because of the low population of the game some times it can be really hard if not impossible to sell items at a normal price.

- Game economy is extreamly unstable, making profit over the marketplace (buying cheap and selling expensive) is just like gambling.

- If you want to be some one in this game you need to play about 6 to 8 hours a day, and due to the very low drop chances of items, you can end up with nothing for weeks even months if you're unlucky.

- You have to chose carefully your playing time of the day, as you need people to do most of the raids and instances, at night time the game is completly dead. (200 players max on EU server.) (GMT +1)

- There are no ''daily quests'' or other ways to get a stable currency flow, the luck and real money are the only things that can make you some 'gold' in this game.

- You can buy items with in-game currecy, that can only be buyed with real money from other players, this only adds up to the pay to win aspect of the game, not to mention that you can get scammed while doing so if you are not carefull.

- In-game Game Masters are useless, when there is any online.

- It's a fully instanced game. wich means you will need to load the game each time you get in an instance or raid, move from one part of the city to the other, move from one city to another, etc.

- Graphics and physics are a bit outdated for the requirements the game has.

So unless you have alot of money burning a hole in your poket, and you don't mind not having any time left for anything else during the day, this game is for you.

Honestly If I could, I would of never played this game, the only reason I kept playing the game after about a couple of months is because of friends.

Note: Next year (2017) the game will be undergoing a big patch wich is suposed to fix alot of buggs and make the game more ''stable'', wich I strongly doubt it's possible.

All of this can be summed up by saying that the people who are trashing Vindictus have their hands stuck out waiting for things they want to be handed to them.

Essentially.. you have a free to play game that is not pay to win or even remotely pay to compete, it's pay to look pretty and even then, better appearances can be achieved with actual in-game farmable/craftable sets.

If you're going to cry "It sucks!".. at the very least try to have some legitimacy to your claims. Sure, it's a free to play that has some lag issues.. name one NA free to play action MMORPG with the depth of combat mechanics or customizations that Vindictus has that doesn't do exactly that - lag.

And let's be honest here.. if you're crying about the price of something you really want, you're just broke and mad at yourself for not having the type of income where you could afford the things you want. Don't trash a game that many have loved and supported for a long time just because your burger-flipping pay scale doesn't let you buy all the shinies.

Why did you resurrect a dead thread from over a year ago?

He needed to resurrect another dead thread as well. (Just looked at it after this one)

Welp, I think I'm going to start playing again.
Garretfire™ 2016년 11월 23일 오후 8시 25분
I've looked at some things posted and all I have to say is that I don't think it is P2W (Yes, there are a few things you can buy with cash that will help, yes you can buy things your not supposed to, BUT only if you choose to do so) and just because you don't like it doesn't mean you should deter someone else from trying it out. Just because you may not neccessarily like the game does not make it automatically a bad or P2W system. I encourage anyone who is interested to try Vindictus. If you have several hours of fun on it but it starts to get boring, just go play something else. Its what gamers do after all, most people do hop from game to game. I have another thread up about a guild, if you play on East and are looking for a guild or want some help I'd be glad to play with you. Thanks.
