Yeah. Buy the skills you use most.

Kai is the least AP intensive character in the game. You don't need a guide to play him.

Other then working on rank 9 Standing endurance and that stuff you don't need to worry about much.

Kai's crossgun skills pretty much do everything they're supposed to at rank F. So no immediate need to rank them like say, Lann or Fiona. Perforator I personally don't care for and people say to not rank Reload past B because it makes Lock and Load harder to active, but personally I've seen no real change but it's all subjective.

All in all just focus on surviving and ranking the armor/survival stuff.
