Well all pets as of now have thier specific uses, thou due to the drop system (actually the pick up system) gettign better the gremlins main use has somewhat diminishes since its release.
Gremlins use a defense buff on you, while picking up items.
Wolves a pure combat enhancers, increasing your AP gain, your crit rate, and they themselves eventually get a teleporting attack skill. At level 30 they do 7000 attack or more.
Bears are your best aggro pets. Theire potential skills include a roar that damages while also taunting and temporary invulnerbility skill (thus why they are best aggro pet)
and Gnolls are your most expensive but also one of the most useful. A nice selection of direct combat skills, but thier chief use and thus thier value is thier ability to mine and collect ore.
