I should warn you though the game really isn't that good on a gamepad, I though it would play just like dark souls and be even better with skills to use but I was so wrong.
Camera handles like crap and as far as I know you can't remap the buttons and they are awkward as can be.
You can remap the buttons and the camera doesn't have a sensitivity setting sadly. If you ever want to play controller I suggest putting items on the ABXY and attack, smash, dodge and run on the RT/RB/LB/LT. Take care and thanks it worked.
Normal Attack X
Smash Attack Y
Quick Slot Weel A or RT "use right stick to select an item, than tap A"
Secondary Weapon B
Switch SP Skil LB
Use SP Skill RB
Run LT
Dodge RT or A
Toggle Mouse Pointer Select
F12 "Ready Up button" Start
F11 "Sit Button" Left Stick Push In
Grab Right Stick Push In
Zoom In D Pad Up
Enviroment Detail "display your armor dmg condition" D Pad Left
Zoom Out D Pad Down
Area Map D Pad Right
Note: Can just assign Zoom to D Pad Up which toggle the camera up on your character than it zoom back out on the third or fourth press, which will free up a button press for you.

Thats my set up. Only character I struggle to use it with is Evie because appearantly RT cancels LT so you can't do Eagle Strike. Atleast with Fiona you can let go of LT and hit RT for shield smash but it won't do that on Evie xD
EDIT: I play Arisha and Fiona and can't afford to wait for weapon wheel/deal with it switching location of my SP skills everytime I activate it. So this set up (because of item tab switch) is used to get a maximum of 10 hotkey settings. First tab for SP/Assignable skills Like Shield Dash and Crystal Burst and the second tab for potions, leaving 1 SP skill on the SP Skill. list. Feel free to switch that to item 6.
Got my own set up mapped and I'll tinker with in later on.
But playing lann with a controller did feel pretty cool.
I hope Hagie handles even better with a controller.
On that note I wish they would fix the minor issues with controller.
-No camera sensitivty
-Glitchy item/SP wheel
-Control Prompts for Joypad_1 instead of A/X or Neg_Y instead of Down on the analog xD
-LT/L2 and RT/R2 can't be used at the same time
-If controller disconnects you have to restart your PC to get Vindictus to regonize it again
Would be great if I didn't feel controller was a option of comfort over functionality. it is nice that you can control the mouse with the camera controls and select things with Normal attack.
EDIT: Also why do we have wlking animations in makeover shop but we can't walk?
That's a pretty interesting set up, seem a bit tricky but if it works for you than that great, atleast it easier to use your items vs the item wheel, also that a good question guess they know everyone like to run lol.
And thanks. It's designed so that I have access to as many items/skills as possible while being able to move my camera when it matters most.I should probably make a post to see other peoples control set ups.
I had mine for under 24 hours and swapped back to 7 because of all the problems.
