Can't break off any parts

Nothing i do seems to make parts break off of bosses, i tried throwing spears at them like the guides said and it dont work.

Not all bosses have breaks.
You have to hit the right part of the body.
If the boss is in an "unflinchable" animation when attempting a break, it may not count.

What bosses in particular are you attempting to a breakoff on?
