Hurk, Fiona, Vella or Evie???
I've wasted so much time trying to figure out who I want to play, and even now, I still can't decide. I've been able to narrow it down to these 4 characters, but can't make the choice. Any suggestions??

Amongst these choices, I'd go with Longsword Fiona (1st) and Hurk (second). Evie wasn't fun for me; I'd rather use a Lynn or Silas anyday. Vella is cool and all but that's about it. Chains are too repetitive and inconsistent, can't even solo that well either compared to everyone else. Twinsword vella's attacks are pretty painful to watch for some reason, might be just me.

P.S: People who give you advice here are usually biased based on characters that they currently play alot and main. I gotta say that at some point you should play everyone and then decide on which character you like the most. Kind of like in Streetfighters, you gotta play every character first before deciding who you're best with. (I main hurk/silas, but I've played every class in the game (with the help of going on my rl friend's account).)

I think Evie is fun looking! Silas looks a little bland to me, but Aisha looks like a fun pick if I wanted a Magic Melee hybrid. I've seen some gameplay for both Hurk and Fiona, and it looks like Fiona is the noob friendly character in terms of combat. I'll pick her to get a feel for the game before I hop right into some heavy duty Hurk action.
Glad you figured it out

I'm not all that sure if I wanna play her if she's super tanky like I think she is. How is Hurk defensively?

Hurk is quite defensive, provided you know how to properly time things. For instance, pushing space and then attacking will intiate a dodge forward into a parry strike back. This does two things. One, a lot of damage and two it stuns the boss and cancels their attack. You can even do it to certain range attacks and he is also durable in the sense of invuln frames.

Also, to the guy saying "God of Vindi for Vella" I do hope you're joking. Less you not talking about chain blade vella, cause that is simple, blade however requires very good timing.

I have 6 character slots so I could totally try all of them out. That deflection skill of Hurks seems really rewarding, and I really wanna get to utilizing that.

It is, but it can also be kinda iffy to use (at least in my experience).

as for your 6 slots, i REALLY recommend you give Karok a look, especially since you stated that you like melee but made an exception for evie because explosions. Caestus Karok is literally punch things and explode them.

EDIT: Here's some gameplay (not by me, obv) showing essentially how caestus karok works:

of course, if you are into slow but extremely heavy hitting attacks, hurk is definitely your guy.

Idk about that Cestus. The giant ass pillar looks much more appealing to me. Also, how is Aisha? Is she a little deeper than her prologue gameplay shows? And who would you say is the most difficult to solo? I think that playing a game like this with others would hinder my experience.
As a longbow kai main, I LOVE having an arisha on the team because easy headshots are wonderful (a high level ability of her's is stopping time for bosses). having played her, yes her gameplay is deeper than her prologue is but not by much. She has quite a few skills (meaning have one hotkey bar for items and another for skills), but you're not gonna be using all of them all the time.

As for most difficult to solo, i'd probably say Lan, but I probably just suck with him (he was also my first character back when the game only had 2). And I recommend finding some friends to play with as the game is a LOT more fun that way. plus, you get an exp bonus when you're in a party.

I don't think I'll be finding people to play the game with. The game feels too much like some sort of Platinum Games title for Multiplayer to feel appropriate, especially when you look at people like Hurk. I mean its addition is cool and all, but after watching gameplay and stuff, I honestly don't think I'd enjoy the game while playing with others.

Better learn. You only get to do solo things for the first 30ish levels or so. You will likely be strong for now though because of the game's leniancy in leveling, but the first time you go up against kheagan when you unlock him, you will be begging for mates to play with. Granted, he is easier, as he should be with higher gear and knowledge of his attacks. He is as we like to call "The newbie Wrecker" He still woops lvl 80+ people which is hilarious to me xD.

I'm honestly good on playing it with others. Doesn't look like it works well to me. I'll legit solo the entire game just to spite you and the rest of the Vindi community lmao
