How do I get the quest to transform into Paladin (New Player)
Hello, I was wondering what quest and at what level am I able to pick the Paladin path. My other 2 characters (Delia lvl 62 and Lethor lvl 75) are Dark Knights.

it's the same level you pick dark knight, only difference is you opt out of killing what's their face. at least it is from what i remember.

If I remember correctly it's a level 40 quest, or chain of quests. Starts with Gallagher, and continues through Nyle. If you want to be Paladin instead of DK, you have to choose to not kill Gallagher, going with the greater will of the order, not individual orders.

Just play the story and at 40 the quest will be part of story to chose between paladin and dark knight

yeah story's been revamped now. that's no longer a thing. another shame brought to us from the rise update.

Really? I haven't played a character under 60ish after the Rise update, been awhile... I guess it kind of makes sense to integrate it into the main plot though.

i don't really see it being any more relevant to the main storyline. you becoming a member of or being involved w/ the dark brotherhood has never really been relevant to the plot and they didn't change that w/ rise. i'm sure it doesn't even make a difference in s4 when you're fighting the brotherhood (i'm not there yet in the story so plz no spoilers) aside from maybe canonically the reason you're able to beat them is because you have their power.

I dunno, I was thinking about how the order protects the oracle, and you, becoming the harbinger of the order, ties into the whole morrigan/tieve thing... Like I said, been a long time since I went through, or cared, about the plot lol
okay, well... ig there was the one time where the only reason you and keaghan are alive is because nyle saved you two because you and only you are a member of the brotherhood. however this honestly wasn't necessary because you could've easily just stepped in yourself and stop being on the sidelines for once and take on a few soldiers and a lousy riodarn because for god's sake you canonically took on the ENTIRETY of ortel castle's army AND ingkells himself all by yourself while they were ALSO buffed by nightshade. so i think a few archers and, again, some measly riodarn should be no challenge for you... then you two would've naturally decided to go to colhen anyway.
i put it in spoiler in case the op cares for the story.

it doesn't really. i forget what the term is, but there is one for this type of character in a story, and in this game you have never acted of your own will; everything you ever do is influenced by others. this is still the case later on in the story cuz i'm near dullahan in the story and you're still like this. the only exception might be before the story even begins because it's never explained why you joined the crimson blades to begin w/. unless the newly made individual character prologues are meant to be canon, in which case this would confirm that you joining the blades is the only exception.
anywho.. i digress. the thing about the brotherhood.. is that yes, they protect the oracles, but the reason they protect the oracles is because they want the goddess to return and the oracles are the key for that to happen. so what happens to tieve is desirable to them. and about protecting them... as far as i can recall, there's no actual canonical cases of them protecting tieve. they had wenshardt stationed in colhen specifically to protect tieve, but again there's no cases of wenshardt thwarting any threats to tieve, and shortly after you kill wenshardt the brotherhood had a falling out w/ the spiders so they were unable to request a replacement which is understandable. HOWEVER... there WAS an instance where colhen was quite LITERALLY obliterated and burned to the ground. where was the brotherhood to protect tieve then? nowhere to be seen. now about what i said about you being a character who just does what others tell them... because this is the case, you would've done the things naveen told you to do whether you were a member of her brotherhood or not. Also you being a member of her brotherhood had no impact on whether or not you would've been the one naveen told to do the things she did. and that's how i met your mother.

oops, lol.. messed up on the spoiler formatting 😅
