Favorite Ships
So guys, what are your favorite ships you used so far?

For me I started with the Inflict because it had 2 primary weapons mounted and 45 cargo hold, pretty good for a 30k ship if you ask me.

Then I kept using it till I saved enough money to get myself a Nuyang II which is around 900k and definitly worth it. It has 105 cargo space, place for 4 primary weapons (meaning loads of damage) and 9 equipment slots, meaning you can put all important equipement on this baby!

After that I got the Veteran (or Mantis which is also a good choise (more weapons, less cargo tho) and used that till I could collect myself around 9 million credits to get the final ship in this game... which I will keep a secret which one that is... 1 hint, collect all gold badges and you'll find out :P

Cheap: Teneta/Avoz
Not cheap: Veteran/VoidX
Yes the Veteran rocks, I like it cus it has so many pro's and little cons, can carry many items with ya, has enough weapons aboard etc.

The dark angel is definitely the best, 4 primary weapons, 2 secondary weapons, medium size cargo hold, good armour, 1 turret and relatively good handling.

I named her Big Sarah ♥♥♥♥ yourself when I shoot at you. lol I just made that up. The nivelian flag ship is a close favorite but I did not have her long.
Oh you didn't hear? We aren't getting any of the dlc here on pc, they just did this for the money...

The ship I'm using at the moment is the Anaan, and I'd been hunting one down for a while. It's a nice looking ship with decent statistics, and when appropriately equipped, it is a really good choice for anything, although it's only letdown is the number of equipment slots, BUT there are still a decent number of them.

I'm playing for about 6 days with the Anaan. It's an incredible ship for those who like to mine and fight some pirates on the spot. (200 armor, 356 cargo with compressor), 2 primary weapons (a long range canon plus a short range big blaster), a turret...(i don't talk about 2nd Wpns as i never use missiles, i waste them all the time hitting my right mouse button), correct maniability. 7 spaces is cool for my business (plaques + shield, scanner + mineral sniffer, compressor, tractor ray, repair robot, plus large cabin in stock just in case.

I'm about in the middle of the game with it (i just got the Alien samplings with the Scientist girl and now hang around to find out things here and there), allready got about 30 mineral cores, destroyed the pirate station at Behen, have 300k savings despite i got the best gears on sight...i never saw a better ship until now. And it cost me about nothing as i traded it for the Scientist ship (value about 90k on the planet i traded).

I bought the Inflict near the beginning of the game, great little ship, and then upgraded to the Teneta because it had more equipment options. I spent the majority of the game with the Teneta until I got too much appealing equipment and too many weapons for the intermediate ship, so I bought the Veteran, which is fantastic. But now I have too much money and I am struggling to find something to spend it on

This is my ship progression. Note that I don't do any trading, I just want best firepower possible:

1) Taipan (cheapest ship with 3 guns)
2) Nuyang II (cheapest ship with 4 guns and 200+ armor)
3) Gryphon (1 more equipment + better handling)
4) Mantis (2 more equipment)
5) Ghost (2x more armor + 2 more equipment)

It's hard to outclass Ghost with it's insane 530 armor rating, so I just stayed with it until the end.

Teneta R.E.D. (turret slot) and Groza MK II (5 guns) are somewhat more powerful, but have less equipment slots, so I didn't use them.

Specter (800 armor + 2 more equipment) is better of course if you have patience to get all the medals, but it's too much grinding for my taste.

Bloodstar is better for mining / trading (180 cargo + turret slot), but it is more sluggish and easier to hit during dogfights. This is the ship to get if you want balance between good cargo and combat capabilities. I don't care about cargo so Ghost is better for me with its better handling.

Personally, i like the refurbished phantom most (go find it yourself you lazy people).
and as far as voidx goes, sure it's specs are good, but i hate how the weapons are laid out on it.

As a tip for making money, buy the terran cargo hauler once you have enough money and run supplies everywhere (organs and vossk organs to the thynome as easiest and fastest example), do this only after you max out the utilities with 1 khandor drive and the rest with black holes.

A lot faster but a bit unreliable method is blast cargo ships in the systems with EMP (and fighters too if they have good cargo, once found some nivelian carrying 5x proscans), you need atleast 2nd or 3rd best scanner, and kingfisher beam and emp nukes or missiles, occasionally you might even get random bonus cargo.

I found the ghost and the gryphon similar. just armour and cargo diffrences
