abandoned space stations because afraid of pirates?

so in some of the systems i have visited, there is 1 space station that when i try to dock i get some message:

"the crew has abandoned the station because of pirate activity, the pirates must have set up base nearby"

then I get immediately kicked out the station. but theres nothing (waypoint or whatever) on my map to indicate a pirate base that i can destroy to open up the station again.

i try killing the random 2-3 pirate ships that spawn and then reenter the station, but that has nothing to do with it--- every station has 2-3 pirate ships that spawn every time you exit the station.

anybody know what the deal is with this? i have encountered this situation in at least 4 stations--- all of them happen to be nivellian, don't know if that has something to do with it... or if its only a coincidence.

i want to get the achievement to visit all the stations, and this will apparently prevent me from getting it

Usually there is like a red cloud close to the station. Head to there, kill some defenders then destroy the station...

Ya, theres a Pirate station in a red cloud in that area. EXTERMINATE!

thanks for the help, i either missed the part of the game where thats explained to you, or it isn't - i probably wouldn't have ever noticed the cloud as anything other then scenery
