Here's how to play the game with DLC on "PC"

I am a huge fan of Galaxy on fire 2, I've played it since 2010 back when the demo still existed and when the game wasn't free yet on iOS. I've played this game on many, many devices (five different phones, two PC's and even a mac), and yet I was really saddened by the fact only the iOS version have DLC's.

I've looked for many years, just like you guys on steam, for a way to get the DLCs on PC. Right, there is a mod out there allowing you to use valkyrie content, but it's only the content instead of the story, the bug fixes, etc... so I wasn't a big fan of that. I also thought about (and tried) the VM method, by installing MacOS on a virtual machine. However, I couldn't get accelerated graphics to work, so the game couldn't launch.

However, I found a way to get the complete game (including DLCs and the latest version) on PC ! But trust me, it's not an easy task to do for such a good but simple game. Basically, you will have to turn your PC into a hackintosh (a non-Apple computer with MacOS installed on it) with either MacOS Sierra or lower OR MacOS Big Sur and higher, NOTHING in between. I've heard reports saying that the game is quite glitchy on Big Sur, so you should go with Sierra or lower.

I highly suggest you to use OpenCore (as of the date I'm writing this), here is the link[dortania.github.io] . But beware! You will need to check if you have the correct hardware for this. If my memory is correct, Intel is more compatible than AMD, but AMD is more compatible than Nvidia. Check your motherboard too.
If your hardware is compatible, you will need to set up the configuration files. This will take a while (about an hour) as you will need to carefully read the documentation. Don't worry, they explain everything pretty well, and if you don't understand something, you can still ask for help on their discord.

All of this is a quite lengthy process (I took an entire day from scratch to Sierra on my pc), but it's very educative, and at the end you end up with a Mac after all! I successfully installed MacOS sierra on my desktop : i7 10700F, 2x8GB DDR4 RAM, GTX 1060 6gb, Gigabyte Z490 UD, even though some of my parts weren't "compatible".

As for the game itself, it's pretty much abandonware at this point (I don't think you can download the MacOS version anymore), so I think I can... *cough* "lend" *cough* you the game with everything included. Nothing bad morally speaking, since we all own the game and Fishlabs doesn't remotely care about GoF2 anymore, amirite ? Just send me a private message and I'll pass the link.

Maybe modders will be able to inject DLC content in the PC version in the future idk, but as for now it's the only way to get GoF2 on a big screen "without" a Mac. Thanks for reading this huge thread, if you need any help feel free to say something in the comments

By the way ! If you're on a real mac, the thing about macOS version also applies !
GoF2 will be broken if you try to play on a macOS version between Sierra and Big Sur. So make sure your mac is ancient enough or modern enough to run the game.
