Sounds like you've got it covered. :)
I will hate it when I need finishing multiple run with a same ship and still unlock only measly stuff.
Do like monster train will ok
The current meta progression is primarily based around the perks system. When in the Hangar, in the bar just above your equipment/weapons, there's a + icon, as well as some locked icons. Click on there to select a starting perk, and you'll see other perks are unselectable until you complete their associated challenge. Perks offer a bonus that helps your run (+40 credits on start, +1 reactor power, etc., more subsystems for sale in shops, etc.)
Beyond that, you also unlock the Lancer and Firebrand by accomplishing a goal. (e.g. Lancer is make it to the 2nd system with the 2nd ship Marauder.) I suspect future ship unlocks will follow a similar pattern.
Cheers, I was afraid of that. Feels a bit disappointing for a game touted as a rogue-like to have virtually no upgrading between runs. Will hold off playing for now and keep an eye on future updates.
Do you plan to add some sort of summary screen of all runs played?
With which ship, difficulty and results for instance.
Thanks
