Is this a visual novel or a strategy rpg?
Or a mix of both?

It's a visual novel with some point and click elements, there's no strategy rpg elements in this game.

I see, is there any romance in this game?

Also is this a kinetic novel type of visual novel or one where we make choices that matter which lead to different routes and/endings?

Finally, how long is the game?

The main character, regardless of gender selected, has a girlfriend, Cassie, who is a major character.

It's definitely not a kinetic novel; there's 4 major 'routes' with subroutes, which result in two separate context endings. There's also various times you can make selections that will change the outcome of something outside of just choosing dialogue options.

As for how long it is, each run is about 4 hours. If you skip through the dialogue that's old, you can probably wrap up each subsequent run in 1-2 hours if you want to get all the outcomes, so probably around 15 hours? It's a short game but it's sort of a prequel to a longer game the dev's working on. It was originally supposed to be a part of that, but got too big and split off. From the extra's part after you complete your first run, seems like you'll be able to import your save into the next game though, no promises since I'm not the dev.

Hi, CloudKira.

You start the game with an established partner so although there is 'romance' it's more about managing an established relationship, There are no dating sim elements, but this is something we'd like to explore in the future!

This game is a visual novel, but it's closer to an ADV, you can move around at your own discretion, talk to characters when you want and make choices which have a different range of consequences from minor to major.

When you say "explore in the future" do you mean that this game will be supported with more content in the future (like DLC or significant content updates) or do you just mean that you would like to create a visual novel with dating sims elements in the future?

And how long would you say the game currently is? There are visual novels of all sizes after all. Is it one of these 50+ hour long visual novels or one in the 5-10 hours range?

Currently with Gun-Dog we consider it largely complete. We'll be making minor improvements in future such as bug fixes and text adjustments but we don't intend to add any additional content at the moment. We've got plans for the Stories from Sol setting and that does involve exploring different types of narrative games such as dating sims.

For the time taken to play the game, our playtesters typically took 6-8 hours to get through a full play through but they were very thorough. Depending on how you play through the game (whether it's a straight run, a single run where you read everything or multiple throughs to experience all the variations) you're looking at 5-10 hours.

Thanks!
It's my fault for misunderstanding, I also thought it was a retro style (love the style) Mech RPG/strategy game and seeing it's JUST a VN, well pure story with no game is not really my thing when it comes to gaming.

Was very interested in this, so feel guilty going "no thanks" now.

No worries at all - no need to apologize! I'm sure most of us here deeply appreciate SRW, SD Generations, or Gihren no Yabou to some extent. Just wanted to share that we love those games too, and while ours is a visual novel, their influence is definitely woven into its design.
