The mechs are specifically pointed out on the store page, are they... going to play a particular part in the game? Like will you actually pilot them at some points in gameplay?

Just doesn't seem likely considering the genre of game this is.
Is the reason they are given such prominence simply because something like your Player Character was a pilot of them during the war and before his subsequent PTSD which happened to lead to him taking a different duty in the post-conflict period..?

Hi!

You guessed right that there won't be any gameplay segments with different mechanics dedicated to the armoured frames (no FPS or TPS segments, sadly) but since this game is our love letter to mecha anime they do play a large role.

I don't want to get too into that plot specifics due to spoilers but they do play a significant role in a few characters' backstories and they do feature prominently in sections of the main story.

If you are a mecha anime fan and enjoy the drama that's a big part of that genre then we hope there's plenty in Gun-Dog that you'll enjoy!
