Kind Words 2

Kind Words 2

Any plans for IOS and Android?
Specifically looking for a response from the devs if they ever see this, but all are welcome to chime in. I think this game would be perfect for a phone release, especially with cross platform play with PC users. I'm surprised this hasn't already happened yet with how long the original Kind Words has been around.

Hi! I read ALLLL the comments. Mobile is tricky for a lot of reasons. Some of them are economic. Premium games (on average) just don't sell like they did 13 years ago. And I don't like the idea of structuring Kind Words as a free to play game. Also piracy is a uniquely tricky issue for us. I generally don't worry about game piracy with my work as I don't believe pirated copies actually represent a lost sale. But opening us up to mobile piracy (which is rampant on some platforms) could significantly increase our moderation burden. I'm not saying we'll never do mobile, but there are real hazards for us there.

Aha. I knew there had to be some explanation for it not to have made it to mobile by now. The game is literally perfect for that platform, at least from a user perspective, but I hadn't considered all the other nuances you mentioned that actually make it incompatible. Aside from the piracy concerns, It would have to be free to play in order to thrive on mobile, and I believe having a price tag on this game is one of the prime reasons why the trolls haven't taken it over yet.

I can't lie, it is disappointing to know that there are no plans for mobile, as I feel like being able to whip out a phone and engage with the app from anywhere, at any time, fits Kind Words perfectly, but I totally get the concerns now that they've been explained. Good reasoning tbh. Thanks for shedding some light that for me
