What happened to Constantine's Sword?
Garrett had the Sword at the end of Thief Gold. How is that he's back to using a regular sword again in Thief 2?

It's a good question... I think some fan missions have tried to tackle this point. Perhaps it got destroyed when the Maw and constantine's magic evaporated. Most likely it was simply because Looking Glass thought having a sword that didn't make you more visible was OP :)

Well Constantine's sword was darker in colour, hence it's less visible, which makes sense.

Mind you there were very few undead in Thief 2. It's not like we need to backstab Haunts on every mission lol.

Both explanations are plausible, 'specially one about sword's magical properties evaporating after Trickster's defeat if one insists on explanation that makes sense story-wise.
Tis also possible that G simply got rid of it. Sword being connected to Trickster and imbued with his magick, reminding him of events from Thje Dark Project etc... Practical man as he was, you can easilly see G not wanting have something like that with him.

Agreed.

Hence I never understood why the FAWKING RETARDED developers of Thief 2014 would try to make a story between Garrett and this arrogant rude reckless chick of a Erin. The Garrett I know wouldn't touch someone like that with a ten foot pole.
I'd imagine Constantine's manor disappeared after his death too. After all, they'd get some weird questions from the estate agents if it hadn't.

The sword does look badass, but not that useful in T2. Although the normal sword can backstab haunts too, so there's that. I'm not sure if the magic made much difference as a result.

Yeah, don't touch THIEF 2k14 with a ten foot pole at all!!

Yeah man, from everything I've read, Thief 2014 has done EVERYTHING wrong. Wrong audio, wrong gameplay mechanics, wrong character design, wrong plot, wrong level design. The only good thing about it is modern graphics.

That's why I'm playing Gold and Thief 2 again. I need more Thief, but this new POS done by Square Enix is garbage.

You can try The Dark Mod though. But not the St. Lucia FM. Just some of the other stuff they have out there (which is much better than the stock stuff at the moment). Great platform with new content released all the time. Fans seem to make better stuff thatn AAA games with Thief it seems.

Yeah I was watching youtube clips of this Dark Mod. The water in the game looked really odd - like a puddle of bright light purple liquid. And the animation of the player whacking AIs with blackjack is also not that convincing.

Garret was short of cash and sold it at the pawn shop. Case closed ;)

I wonder what Garret spends all his money on. Seems like as accomplished a Thief as he is he shouldn't be scrimping for rent, even if he gets stiffed by the odd client.

He did mention about fine wine. Mind you wine can't be THAT expensive, even fine ones.

Because it's not the Garrett you know. The story - if I may call it this way - of Thief 2014 is set around 400 years in the future.

Yeah I found out about this bit later.

It's odd LGS would find Const's Sword OP considering how early in Thief 1 they give it to you. In Thief 2 with its lack of undead and monsters, it would still be inferior to the blackjack. And without mechanical considerations or lore to justify its disappearance, it really is a headscratcher.

I take it that the guy whose LP you were watching was also confused?
