THief 2x not working anymore

HI all, I used to play this wonderufl mod and reached the last mission when it stopped working, it crashes on start-up.

How can I make a clean installation and get it to work? Thanks

I did, still no luck, the game crashes on start-up

might it be something in the registry?

so I:

-installed T2
-the applied the TafferPatcher TMA 218 Beta
-let it create the T2 FM shortcut
-installed T2x v 1.1 downloaded from it's original site
-ran the T2 FM shortcut, it said I cannot create the FMs folder inside of that folder so I
-let it create a FMs folder in another place F:\Fms
-moveed the T2x folder to the FMs folder
-extracted T2xfix to the T2x folder and overwrote
-ran the T2 FM shortcut but it doesn't see T2X

well yeah, you obviously did something that made it not work. again, you need to do the following;

-install T2
-patch up with latest TafferPatcher, let it create the T2 FM shortcut
-install T2x
-run the T2 FM shortcut, and let it create the FMs folder, exit
-move the T2x folder to the FMs folder
-extract T2xfix to the T2x folder, overwrite
-run the T2 FM shortcut, double click T2x

Still nothing

FM won't let me place the FM folder into the Thief 2 directory so I moved it to: F:\Steam\steamapps\common\FM while thief 2 is in F:\Steam\steamapps\common\thief_2.

Also FM loader can't read the T2x folder so I created a zip file with everything in the T2x folder and named it T2x.zip

my Darkinst File is:

I've read your post three times, it's not making any sense. just follow those seven steps to the letter and things will work. don't do any extra random stuff.

if you have any error message, make a screenshot and post it.

The Wodsie Lord hath guided me to solving this conudrum for my Hammerite PC doth not want me to install this tricksie mod on an devilry external hard drive!

Fear not, for all you need is to install the sneaksie mod on an internal mechanic HDD and it will work!

ah, I see. I'm pretty sure a TafferPatched T2 install is portable once set up (FMs included), but no idea whether installing directly on an external hard drive is supported - judging by your issues, probably not.
