As dead as you want it to be or as your Steam's friends list.
As I said, IMO he's not wrong neither really right.
And the game isn't Awesome IMO... it has good potential for sure.
I would evaluate optimistically the game to be worth around 7-15$ at the moment.
All depends on your taste and experience with the game and maybe even how pissed you are with other extraction shooters.
I would probably buy Tarkov at 250$ instead of IRR at 25$ if it would be near complete.
IRR has for sure less than 10% the features, mechanics and content of Tarkov IMO.
That's my take on it.
And don't get me wrong here.
I'm not saying at all that I regret buying IRR.
Relax man, I'm just in a mood to do some trolling lol.
I'm contesting a title of the most vocal critics of this game. It's a mess and may go down in flames for a multitude of reasons.
last update was in November. December was the month when "Supporter Edition" was dropped. By no means that was an actual update for IRR.
I'm not sure if the devs don't care about peolple cheating or it's only for the alpha / test period,
to allow everyone to test everything according to the time they want to spend for it... cause not everyone will max out the Vendors, etc.
What might be more an 'issue' for the matchmaking is mainly the different difficulties and the custom one, especially the custom difficulty IMO.
When there will be not enouh servers to chose from... people will join any of those available even if the difficulty isn't for them I think.
Maybe the devs will implement filters to limit what kind of players can join our server, but I highly doubt.
Still because of the different difficulties, watching streamers will also gonna be confusing on what difficulty they are playing on and if they are or have used cheats.
So I take the point that you play the way as you describe?
I mean, you can play the style you like, this is PvE, not very competitive with the other player... If you want.. also, friendly fire is the closest thing I can find for PvP.
NGL, i dont see where you point stands, you can just enjoy the way you want.
Is that so hard to understand that WE don't want to play with cheaters... even in a COOP game ?
Do you think cheaters have the same mindset and play the same way that someone that doesn't ?
And I'm not even talking about the EASY difficulty that is pretty close to cheating almost ngl.
Personally I don't use much Discord and try to find teammates in-game (games with comms), so if there is a good chance that the players are cheating... I won't be so much interested to queue with those.
As I said in my previous post...
If by example a player that only plays on Easy can't find a match, there will be a big chance that he'll try Medium or even Hard if there is only a few servers ON...
If he's not up to the task, there is a good chance that he go bankrupt and start just straight cheating.
How many players went bankrupt in ABI and were asking for a reset and so on... just cause they were playing out of their league... trying to follow friends that are just better with the same gear, but without the same success and wealth.
And a bunch of those bankrupt just created new accounts instead of trying to get back on track by playing Scavs run.
If you mean in terms of development: no.
If you mean in terms of player-base: This game sells itself on being a solo/co-op experience, it doesn't matter if no one's online, you can still play it and experience it in full.
Also I think the port-forwarding for co-op is done by Steam, so even if the studio is dead, you'll still be able to play with friends; however I'm not 100% sure on this, I'm assuming since it's the best route to go when there's no dedicated servers needed for multiplayer.
Matchmaking is just grief heaven last time I heard. I.E. people match up and then team kill you to steal your loot, type ordeal.
