what bugs me more is that when i start a mission and i fail it because of a unreal editor error etc, that i lose reputation exp, with teh factions , and suddenly i am done to level 1 instead of level 2, and lose acces to some items.
atleast make it so that you dont lose rep exp, during these crucial testing stages, as its a alpha, beta whatever anyway :P
and i wouldent mind beeing a tester, for them i love finding bugs and stuff, and have teh time to spend on it, and the more bugs get found the more stuff can be fixed
i dont mind testing a level over and over again to find a bug that maybey is hiding under a small rock from plain sight :P
seeing this game is one off or the only one that alows peopel to play solo, without beeing killed and interupted by oither players like in DELTA FORCE,. so it can get a nice player base, if it plays its cards right. as i see lots of peopel on teh web are complaining about pvevp games having no solo or LONE WOLF option :P
anyway it is what it is, i know its alpha, beta, gama delta whatever, so i know bugs liek these are to be expected :P
again its a great game sofar, and i realy hope they will give delta force a run for its money, i love love it sofar.
so i hope to see a new update soon. maybey some testing setting for players during teh alpha :P
so if you ever need somebody to test a certain level over and over, i am availeble
l found lots of floating tress and rocks etc, and invisible walls that where not blocked off well and you get stuck in it.
maybey a unstuck button ? :P
The game is in alpha. There aren't beta testers until the game leaves alpha stage. That means not all bugs have even been discovered yet. That's the purpose of early access.
It's an early access game. Character wipes are to be expected.
You ARE a tester for them and you ARE testing a level over and over again.
There is a character reset button on the esc menu.
i saw it but i thought as the name sugest a total charcater reset so all teh stuff you unlocked like loyalty etc etc would also be lost, so i didnt use it , as it stated reset not unstuck :P so it only places teh charcater somehwre else ?
Years ago I made a batch file to backup my games, especially for early access games. Since then I basically used it for any game where I was afraid to lose progress.
Create a textfile, fill in the content above and change the ".txt" at the end to ".bat". If your system doesn't show file extensions, google how to do that.
Change the path in the Line
xcopy "C:\Users\Allgemein\AppData\Local\Test_C\*.*" %ARCHIVENAME% /E
to your Windows profile name. My windows profile is called "Allgemein", so chances are slim that your profile has the same name.
Also I am administrator on my own system, so I don't know how Windows handles it, if you're just a user. Maybe you have to run it with right click and use "run as administrator", I don't know.
I am NOT saying you have to do that, or that it's normal for early access games that you could lose your progress and it's your own fault. I'm just giving you something to prevent that in the future. So take it or leave it...
EDIT: Oh, I forgot. The commented out line at the end is just in case I want to automatically delete folders that are older than 5 days. I only use this very rarely, so it is commented out by default.
EDIT2: And I just realised, that you didn't lose your whole savegame, but only the progress of one round... so all this was for nothing... man, I'm stupid... but my intentions were good...
