Well...
World design is just fine (as WIP) and I love that jungle immersion.
BUT. That sound... rly? I hear enemies walking right next to me while they are 50m away, location is sometimes weird (hearing them from 12 o clock while they are somewhere around 2 o clock). Steps on metal sound like everyone went pirate with 2 wooden legs.
I have almost to yell at my teammates when someone is walking over metal.

lets... CLONK... be.... CLONK CLONK CLONK.... quiet... CLONK.

If the immersion of the sound would have the same level as the graphics... oh my gosh... Id take a tent and make a campfire.
This should be fixed before you implement things like extreme weather, just because the weather also is a big chance for creating an immersive sound (or to screw it up even more).

there should be sound decay by distance now. You haven't seen REAL no-sound-decay design unless you played earlier dev build...

the exaggerated footstep sound is a necessity unfortunately, as in a game environment we need better sound perception range to make up with natively worse directional perception and vision cone than real life.
