Incursion Red River

Incursion Red River

TEXTURE FIX! (works for me, anyway)
I have a 1650 Ti and this game sadly runs with low resolution textures that look muddy, plastic and ugly. I also noticed that I'm not the only one having these issues either. I've searched high and low for possible fixes but I've finally found one that actually worked for me and now I'm able to run the game with quality textures that don't exist only in the safe house!

https://gamepro.tips/incursion-red-river-how-to-solve-texture-blurring-in-the-map-incursion-red-river/

Simply put:
1.) Go into your AppData Directory and then navigate to "Local/Test_C/Saved/Config/Windows/".
2.) Open "GameSettings" Config File
3.) Set "sg.TextureQuality" to 4 (or 3 if that's too much)

Run the game and you should be able to see an improvement in Texture Resolution.
You should also be able to set other in-game graphic options to better calibrate your performance/quality, just make sure you don't change the "Over All" settings as that will reset the Texture Quality back to "potato"

Hope this helps all of those who have texture issues with their game! and big shout out to gamepro.tips for the research into this!

I believe the settings in that file are generated by the video settings you have in the game. Next time you start the game, it will be overwritten. I believe

I have a RTX 4080 and mine was 3 and I have all settings set to max at 4k.

Haven't had any overwriting issues so far. I've launched the game about 4 rimes just to troubleshoot and make sure. so far this is the only fix that's worked for me.

I've also heard some people using 4080s having some texture issues as well which i find kinda weird. I wish i knew why this affects some people and not others.
Thanks, will try this later. Struggling with this issue on a 3050ti and sadly it's something very common for UE5/dx12 games. I hope they'll add a texture resolution setting in-game.

I think this would be greatly beneficial if they added a texture resolution setting in the game's options.

be aware, after the recent update, setting the "sg.TextureQuality" to anything below "4" will result in potato textures. it HAS to be 4 now.
Something is wrong with this whole thread. I did a clean install after this last big update. This included deleting all my hidden files. I have a RTX 4080. I am running the game with max settings at 4K and the game is the best looking game I own. I looked in my hidden GameUserSettings.ini file and this is my file in question sg.TextureQuality=2. I think there is a bunch of guessing with little understanding in this thread. So if this setting must be 4, why is mine set to 2 by default and looking amazing?

If you want to test this, just start a game, bring up the console and add sg.TextureQuality 1-4 and play the game and see how it looks. Change it to all 4 settings while in a game. Just keep in mind, when you add this on the console, it updates your GameUserSettings.ini.

don't know. Maybe I'll try a clean install myself and see if that does anything for me.
I changed mine to 4 and it definitely improved many textures that were low res in game, but others are unchanged. Such as the rock piles on the Quarry map. They still look positively awful. Game looks great overall but these low res textures still mixed in is very jarring.

Other thing i am getting is low res textures when inspecting items. Some will fix themselves if i rotate the item in the inspect window. Others it does nothing and they look awful all the time.

Going to try a full reinstall in the coming days and see if it does anything for me.

Yeah i just tried a clean install and it still has low es textures even with everything set to epic. I still have to go in and changed the Texture Quality to 4, anything lower than that and it looks low res and ugly.

I'm glad this helped!
Yeah i too notice that sometimes ground textures will sometimes look a little messy at times.
It honestly feels like the game's just having a hard time rendering. I really wish i knew what was causing this because i have some friends who say the game looks great with high res textures, and others saying that the game's textures look really low res.

Oh yes... you again.
I see you all over the place, and you always have a certain attitude...

Setting it to 4 DO change things for me too.
Don't make morons from a large portion of community simply because something doesn't work for you. Maybe you have a specific setup that devs tested better.

I have a RTX 4080 mobile (so ok, RTX 4070++) with 12gigs of Vram, 64gigs of ram, and some titles just have this problem, it's a UE thing from times of UE2, happened even in X-com. I have no problem with The Forever Winter on max, or Robocop, Mechwarrior 5 or Starship Troopers Extermination all on MAX, all resource heavy games on UE5... but from time to time some UE games have texture problems and this game especially, and same as Level Zero Extraction both have weird scaling problems where screen becomes 1/4 of the size and rest is blurred stretched lines ...some of us just have problems, and it's software related not utilizing hardware properly.
BTW. Level Zero Extraction has no texture problems.
And that's not all with THIS particular game, I have luminance jumps on time period shifts, gray or green polygon flashes and shadows and light 'resetting' when I play around with attachments or rotate weapons in the inventory. Just WTF.
I would consider it broken hardware, but why Mechwarrior 5, ST:E or TFW have absolutely NO graphical glitches? And what it has to do with rotating objects in inventory?
Game is glitchy as F. for many of us, in many ways, and you... saying otherwise means NOTHING.

You might be a prince of steam on the profile... but IRL it means nothing... you are not the belly button of the universe.
Stop acting all over the steam like an "avatar of the proper", you just look silly with those feathers stuck up in your ass.
It's a particular issue that usually happens with DX12/UE5 games, where the devs don't put effort into optimizing the different texture quality settings for different VRAM options. You either pick the highest so it uses all the VRAM but it can result in immense stutters if you don't have the amount, or you pick a lower option (say, sg.TextureQuality=2) and it'll look like my grandma's windows 98 desktop.

These issues can surely be alleviated (and I mean especially on low-end GPUs) by adding a different graphics setting option where you can choose how much VRAM to allocate to textures and such, so it doesn't go overboard while also retaining graphics fidelity. Or idk- there's probably other options for such thing. I've played other games that were around-if not more demanding than IRR on my laptop and they looked and ran fine. It's just a matter of "wanting to", but by the looks of a comment a dev made on their Discord server about textures and lower end GPUs, ugh, well I guess it WON'T be fixed for this game.

Wow, really? that's...disappointing...I really hope the dev will come around cuz me and a few other friends really like playing it. but a lot of friends who do play it and have this issue are really upset that it hasn't been addressed or fixed yet, hence why I've hounded some kind of fix for it.
Seems to be even better for me after the hotfix. Many textures are now working better with high res. Especially items that are inspected. You still need to rotate some but the high res texture is working now.

That pile of gravel still looks awful though but good to see them working things out and making improvements.
