Possible Fix for Sound and Other Issues
Since the last update I've had a lot of problems

1 - The sound of enemy voices often seemed to be 5cm from my ear even when they were more than 100m away
This happened with all sounds including footsteps.

2 - Stealth has become useless
When I started a mission the enemies instantly knew where.
Enemy AI was getting super aggressive and approached very quickly and without worrying about anything.

Looking at the discussions on the forum I realized that this happened to other people but some didn't.
To the point where some said people were lying or were really bad at the game.
Because of this I thought it might be a local error and not a completely broken update.
So I verified the game files through Steam

I did a mission in the quary and now the sounds are as they should be.
Enemies can still hear from far away, but not as ridiculous as it was
Stealth is now viable again

[FIX]
(My Steam is not in English so I'm not sure of the names but it should be something like this)

1 - Select the game in your library, right click and choose properties.
2 - Select Installed Files on the left menu.
3 - On the right, choose the last option (verify files integrity)

Didn't do a thing for me. Everything still the same as it was before.

As a rule i always verify files after an install or an update anyway. I did it again but it has not fixed anything. Audio still very sketchy and i'm still alerting enemies all around me all at once despite crouching and in sneak mode.

FYI steam client auto verifies after install/update.

If that is the case then it does not always work correctly. Sometimes a game has had issues after install or update and running verify files manually has found missing files. If it does it automatically itself why does it not find these issues?

Many on my friends list have had the same experience over the years.

TBH the way games are designed right now where install folder and save/config folders are separate, there is no reason for validating files ever. If you have had this issue, especially multiple times, especially right after install it's indicative of disk failure. Check what brand ssd you have and download software from the manufacturer's site to check disk health.
