The reason why I'm less persuaded by all the "no distance perception bug" claims are:
1. you guys never tried the dev build. It was a lot worse.
2. I don't want the dev team to get the wrong idea and nerf sound perception range altogether. If you have been here back in 1.0.14 you would know how suck it's gonna be. It was when bots can hear your footsteps from 50m away across multiple obstacles, while you can't hear a thing unless it's <10m. Visual spotting was the only way to find a target, and finding a target before being spotted was neigh impossible due to stuff like foliage (AI see through foliage, you don't, no longer the case now) and darkness (still the case now).
So my 2 cents would be: yes the sound decay is imperfect but at least it's imperfect on the "favorable-to-player" side due to the increased sound perception range for the player compared to IRL. They may polish it, but please don't act as if you want to go back to 1.0.14, we really don't need that.
Communiy reports it - Devs can work on it. Simple. This is a EA title, all good.
No need to start a political discussion around it.
the audio problem needs to be fixed, this discussion post is to make the devs aware of it so they can work on it for the next update, thats all that needs to be said about it, when you say "at least its favourable to the player side" the whole reason the audio being a bug / problem and this was discussed is because it is NOT favourable to the player, forget about comparing it to when the audios was even worse and saying well at least its not as bad as it was, its still bad, the way the audio is now makes it harder to play the game when the audio footsteps and voice line seem to be coming from thin air, you look where the sound is coming from and there's no one there because they are on the other side of the earth and we can still hear them (that was an exaggeration) the way the current audio is makes the game harder to play because you still have no idea where the enemy is thats making the sound they could be 10m away or they could be 100m away and we can still hear them as if they are yelling into our ears standing right next to us, its like playing against ghosts that you can hear but not see, for the love of god why cant you accept that this is so bad that it completely ruins the game if streamers play this game in its current state its not good promotion for the game, i am a streamer i just choose not to stream this game (for good reason) because its in no way ready for an audience yet that would only have a negative impact on the game if people see it with the audio in the current state its in they will not purchase the game, the sooner its fixed the better
it's not a bug, it's a tweak. It's something to be adjusted, not to be fixed.
And yes we need to be able to hear footstep from what you claimed to be "100m away", which is probably closer to 30~50. (actual 100m away was NEVER audible in any version) And yes being able to hear stuff from that distance is favorable to the player and needed due to the nature of the game.
Now, being unable to tell the difference between 5 and 50 meters away, that's a different question. personally I can still tell the difference but I do notice the sound decay wasn't linear enough and are subjected to other factors.
For example, a sound source X meters away unobstructed, sounds as loud as Y meters away obstructed. The ratio of X and Y may be inconsistent across different distances, incorrect relative to nature of obstacle, and most notably the ratio of X and Y are not the same for voice source versus footstep source. These are all legit places for potential improvements.
But it's not a bug, and it won't be "fixed". You seem to suggest we should go back to 1.0.14 where you can't hear jack beyond 15 meters, and that's the last thing we need.
again your going too deep into it man, all that needs to be said is devs please fix the audio range because at the moment its so broken it ruins the game, there thats it, thats all, we dont need a big spill about X to the ratio of Y = Cm2 to the power of 4 and so on and so forth, all we need is the audio fixed and you to stop yappin on about how you think it doesnt need to be fixed, literally everyone else agrees it needs to be fixed, and you just keep goin on and on about it and arguing with people, let it go man
And I never subscribed to this thread. It's simply because you keep making replies that it keeps showing up on the top of the threads list.
Satisfied, troll? You just successfully destroyed gameplay.
Change the setting usually does the best, I would recommend doing that even if youre very good. Because the Preset Difficulty I think somewhat doesnt have a fixed value to start with. If youre given the chance to utilize it, then why not?
THANKYOU to the devs for listening to all of us that commented here that raised the issue and thanks for improving the audio range its in a much more playable state now, i just did a few raids and it was an enjoyable experience playing the game again, i killed around 20 enemy and completed the tasks and at no point did i feel like the audio was bad or unplayable, we still need to use our eyes to spot the enemy that are further away but that is good thats how it should be we should be moving around carefully constantly looking for threats and planning our movements carefully and not just relying on audio alone, crouch walking helps conceal our noise better now so this is also a good improvement.
well done to the devs for a great update.
yes i am satisfied the gameplay is improved.
the audio is improved ALOT now and that means that the devs listened to the majority of people that spoke up about it and fixed the problem, did you notice that i wasnt the only person raising the issue of the audio range needing to be fixed? did you not notice that literally everyone else that commented here said the same thing?
we are thankful the devs listened to us and fixed the audio, they didnt listen to the one guy (you) that seems to complain about everything like now you are saying you died twice because the enemy heard you but you didn't hear them, thats not an audio issue dude thats a skill issue, stop walking around blindfolded and relying on audio alone, you have eyes, use them, plan your movements carefully, find vantage points and scope out areas before you approach, this is not an arcade game where you just rush in and shoot as many people as possible without too much thinking involved, this is a tactical shooter you need to think carefully about your movements you need to work on your skill level and awareness to be successful in a raid, practice makes perfect my guy. maybe try lowering the difficulty and turn it up as you get better at the game?
a bad tradesman always blames his tools for his own failures, a good tradesman blames himself and learns from his mistakes and hones his craft to become better with practice.
if you are getting killed too much then ask yourself "what could i have done better in that situation" use your brain think about what you could have done to prevent that death and next time try not to make the same mistakes again.
i hope this advice helps you improve.
But yeah, for now I have complains, My PC not enough to run the gamee smoothly XD, need to tune down the graphics
hi, only advice i can give for running the game smoothly is as you said turning down some settings, my old PC was i7 6700, RTX 2060 super 8gb, 16gb ram, this PC did struggle a little bit but i could still get a playable experiance at 60 FPS by turning down some graphics settings, the ones that will effect FPS the most will be shadows, special effects, draw distance, anti aliasing, and resolution. i would start by first selecting a resolution that suits your monitor start with 1080p and then slowly turning down some of those settings step by step until you can achieve 60 FPS, you can see your FPS by going into steam settings and turning on the steam overlay and enabling FPS counter on the steam overlay, doing that and being able to see your FPS will help you see the difference you are making when you turn settings down, turn down settings that make a difference to FPS, and the setting that dont seem to affect FPS too much you can turn some of them up for a better visual quality, if you still cant get 60FPS on 1080p then lower the resolution down to the next lowest one and then start adjusting the settings again until you can get 60FPS, hope this helps you man.
the other option is upgrading some parts on your PC, i just built a whole new PC and upgraded to some high spec parts now i have a really powerful CPU and GPU which helps alot i have ryzen 9 7950X 16 cores 5.7ghz, RTX 3080 12GB, 32GB DDR5 ram, these parts allow me to run the game on all epic settings in 1440p resolution and i get around 140 FPS
so maybe you could look at which PC parts you have that need upgrading and maybe think about upgrading them in the future because most games that get released nowdays are going to require decent specs to run.
what is your PC specs?

You've just stepped into hell XD
Mine is laptop, so hardly to be seen any upgrades being possible...
It is Ryzen 7 6800H
16gb ram
500gb rom
RTX 3050 4gm
I guess you can tell what is the actualy issue now XD
The Vram is not even enough even if i've put on the Lossless scaling. Still very hurtful to see XD
