You can buy Seasonal badges with them that boost your Steam Profile rank higher - I'd assume it's good for making rotten accounts look legit; scam, bot and hacker accounts etc.
A game has to be accepted as giving a good picture of a story to success. Since all warfighters regardless of nationality and what language they use, they always use very, very foul language in their respective culture, having in-game characters curse a blue streak is THE correct thing to do.
You can't have a game with any kind of warfighter that speaks squeaky clean language. Such fighers simply never existed.
You seem pretty angry for an NPC who can't read. I never said kids. You make a lot of assumptions like your fellow NPCs do.
I served in the Army. A lot of the folks including the officers cursed. Maybe they thought it added weight to whatever they were saying. I thought they sounded weak with their limited vocabulary. I didn't curse because I didn't have to. I do miss the sounds of nature and gunfire though.
"You're playing a game where you kill people, and you think there should be less swearing?"
These are fake computer non-player characters. The sounds are all just choices made by the developer. They can make different choices to appeal to a broader audience. Or not. Let the boring droning of your fellow NPCs continue.
BTW It's not requisite to curse in order to shoot someone in face.
Never said kids. Never said ethical. Never said what I believe either. NPC. I just like the sound of nature and gunfire and good business decisions. I do have kids however and am teaching noise discipline, trigger discipline, breaching, clearing, target identification and acquisition, and threat neutralization techniques (once the target is not a threat you stop firing.) And without cursing. And not in fake video games. We have an airsoft range in the backyard. Pretty cool because they get to live fire without disturbing the neighbors.
It's amazing the tiny bubble you NPCs exist in. You make assumptions about ALL warfighters. You actually made me laugh out loud. People, even warfighters, who regularly curse just diminish the effect that cursing has and blend in to the drone of NPCs. Boring.
Rich coming from an NPC drone. I am a real person and don't know what people do with steam points. They seem stupid.
When I first joined the Army after completing my MOS there was an E4 there named Turner. He was bigger than the rest of us and always calm and collected. He stood out because many in our company cursed but he never did. So I asked him about it. He smiled and said, "I don't have to." I never cursed again.
I think game would better and make more money if cursing were at least optional. Turner mode activated.
No that doesn't diminish the effect. It has been proven by Mythbusters that cussing can reduce perceived pain. And that was *continuous* cussing.
Also I think this person, with their continuous accusation of everyone else being "droning NPCs" needs to be banned from this forum. Perhaps also with their copy of the game confiscated, if that was at all plausible.
You met nothing. You made a huge assumption by using the word ALL. ALL warfighters. ALL continuously curse to reduce pain. ALL in pain? ALL warfighters continuously cursing would sound like a drone. Laughable. it's a myth that everyone curses.
Thank you for elevating me to person status. I was the one accused of being a bot remember? Sure ban me for having a different opinion about game development against keyboard warriors with fake names like StumpRot2011 who are probably bots themselves. NPCs cannot have a variety of opinions. They remove all differences from their midst until everyone resembles a grey expressionless smudge.
My OP was a real question and didn't accuse anyone of anything. I would still like a serious discussion about that. But do drone on.
While I'm sure there probably are soldiers out there that don't swear I'd say it's around 1 in 100 if not 1000. The fact is that most soldiers do swear so it makes more sense for them to be swearing.
How can anyone have a "serious discussion" with you when you answer every argument with "Oh another NPC" ? That pretty much sums up every reply you've made in this thread. You don't want a discussion, you just want to be right.
It's both hypocritical an painfully ironic that the one acting most like an NPC is you
I read all the responses. You should read them. Botlike in unison.
I did serve with an E4 named Turner and he was exceptional. He was the one in a thousand. I still try to be like him. I was accused of being a bot. I am clearly not. I have an opinion about the development of a game that differs from stunning and brave keyboard warriors. The responses seem like bots. Like grey expressionless NPCs. The drone sound continues.
People read your OP an they told you what they thought of it an instead of just leaving it at that you decide to double down, likely because their difference in opinion hurt your feelings an you took it as a personal attack so then you attacked back so now you're no longer interested in having an actual discussion but just throwing childish insults at anyone who disagrees with you.
It's pathetic
Laughable. Leave it at what? The responses were childish insults:
"No more saying cuss words guys."
"IMO its kinda weird ppl are worried ..."
"Game about shooting people and curse words is what bothers you?"
"Kinda surprised the OP doesn't have many clowns awarded, as I'd almost venture to say a post like that seems like a clown farm to me."
"Most of these " 0 Steam" Levels are odd questions. From a "clown farm".........sounds about right."
"Lets not have the Developers waste time with retarded requests."
"You have obviously never spent time around soldiers in the field."
"This post highlights how sheltered and naive some folks are about what the real world is like."
"garbage take"
"Newsflash dumbass, this game was never made for kids"
"Sorry, the easiest thing to remove from the game is the anti-curse clown."
"Oh how the self righteous have risen, ..."
"Don't listen to judge karen..."
"stop rewarding clown farmers"
"this has to be a troll."
"That is some elite level cherry picking right there."
"get real and toodle off haha."
"Obviously this person doesn't know how mercs/military speak."
"So weird that their are steam point farms"
"I'd assume it's good for making rotten accounts look legit"
"Also I think this person, with their continuous accusation of everyone else being "droning NPCs" needs to be banned from this forum."
"Yeah right, any dumb ass on the internet can say they were in the Army"
"likely because their difference in opinion hurt your feelings an you took it as a personal attack"
Interesting. I do appreciate your assumption that I have feelings to hurt. I don't. But correctly describing these expressionless grey smudge NPCs as expressionless grey smudge NPCs droning on because someone has a different opinion hurts their poor little feelings. So you defend them. Got it Karen.
Very entertaining. Do drone on.
