Backpack stacking
Can we have this feature brought back? It was great to help keep things organized when I didn't have space in the stash or money to upgrade it.

Before the wipe I had Three Salt backpacks in the Gear Stash, 1 for Fuel, 1 for Old kit and 1 for Food packs and containers. Also seems the Salt backpacks aren't as common as before.
The stacking was the main way I got my Salt bags, since I could just put one bag into another one. I used the stacking to regain some gear after a death too. I really don't get why they would take that feature away since it's not like you couldn't do that irl so it's not an immersion breaking feature. Nor is it game breaking or anything. It seems like they just took the feature away for no reason.
Bring it back pls...
It’s not realistic. You could potentially roll up a load of backpacks into one but you can’t keep putting full salt backpacks into empty ones
Freaking stuck on rocks (slide on top, stuck on side and top) and the smallest corners is realistic you say? Don't be that way, do pls never talk about realism in this game again...

I wish they would make them smaller in inventory as a rolled up item. The old system had some bugs where it was crashing some people and there were a couple of cases of people accidentally selling all of them at once for the price of one.

I think if they did it like people said where you can roll them up, it makes perfect sense. I'm just saying, if I had a small pack on, and came across a large pack, I'm not dumping my small pack if it'll fit in the larger one.
They could make it so you just couldn't stack bags that are the same size or larger so you could stack the smaller bags when you find a bigger one on mission. Sure we wouldn't be able to stack them forever, but at least we wouldn't have to move all items from one bag to the bigger in the field. This is one of those things where realistic or not it's more important to remember that this is a video game.
I like how Marauders handles this - you can "fold" a backpack which makes it so you can't put anything in it, but then you can put THAT in ANOTHER backpack. so you can stack one one backpack within the other, but the one inside can't store anything

I used to literally have a hiking bag with four of the same bag stuffed into it back in highschool. I used the layered bags to keep some canned goods, a camping toiletries set, a few spare sets of clothes an extra pair of boots, some bottled water and a large medical supply kit (volunteer firefighter assembled it and gave it to me for Christmas at some point). Hiking bags are about the closest thing I've had IRL to the Salt bag in IRR, and I can say from experience that you can get a ton of bags of the same size to fit into one another; I got bored and stuffed every hiking bag, duffel bag and similar things that I could find into one another like nesting dolls. You can put five or six into one bag before it starts to effect how much fits into them. You can get around ten bags stuffed into each other before you really loose storage space, and even then it was only about one change of clothes less.
So... Practical? No. Realistic? Yeah, up to a certain point.
