video was dated 1+ year ago wasn't it? - they had an old demo out from like 2 years ago that was very bare bones - I assume the Next Fest demo will be quite different.

Ok so I just watched the video of the new demo that they were considering releasing in this year's Next Fest.

Considering how the BigFry Youtube dude (and his clanish cohorts) went to what I'd consider embarrassing extremes to make sure his video was as entertaining as possible so he can monetize it and gain views, it's not so much a surprise why the game dev might not want to release after watching it.

While I understand why it might not get released now, and while I can also understand the BigFry video wanting to stop what he thought would be a bad ending, I do NOT in any way condone how he actually released that video publicly. it was the absolute wrong thing for BigFry to do and he should remove it.

He wasn't trying to do the dev a favor and save face... he was going out of his way to embarrass the dev and trash the project. I think he was irresponsible in releasing that video and should have kept it private if all he really wanted was to offer advice to the dev...he and his friends are clearly making fun, and in a cruel way. I feel kinda bad for the devs now...the demo would have been free and not hurting anyone and however good or bad it would have at least had the chance to speak for itself.

But, how can you say, after releasing a video like that, publicly, that the game will stand any chance at this point? I mean that video is defaming and embarrassing. It should have been edited in a more tasteful and respectful way to the developer, sorry.

I will never tune into anything that BigFry BS has to say again, simply because of how cruel he was here. I do not know the dev nor am I associated with this project in any way other than being an interested player/consumer.

Doesn't matter how unfinished a product is, you simply don't do that to someone publicly, period. You discuss things like that privately - behind the scenes. That's the adult, kind and responsible way to do things like this in life.

But nooooo, anything for a buck... ay BigFry?

But that's not the point of any YouTube Content Creator covering Demos and Games.. If a game feels buggy, half-baked, problematic, or has serious issues especially with release dates being possibly thrown around in the near future.. that always brings into the discussion. You can not like Fry for his direct and crass approach but to say covering a demo with a release being advertised sometime in the coming months and the demo being quite buggy and unfinished feeling... that is a recipe for problems. You can't expect any content creator to not make a video detailing this online, and you can't expect players and community members who play it to NOT post about it on forums where it is public for all to see.

Wah, creator shows off problems in a game I like.
I don't agree with him at times, sure, but he has valid points most of the time. Even games I love, I have issues with. I don't trick myself into ignoring problems just because I paid, or played a lot.
That said despite jank I am looking forward to this.
