something like this but minus glutton and whirlwind (misread the glutton and whirlwind is far inferior to well tower)

You really need to go after a specific strategy hardcore. Get alot of mana regen in the beginning? Go all in for it.
Got alot of re-roll pontential with atleast 2 towers of chaos? Go for re-roll towers.
Got a uncommon Mole and nothing else looking good? Gotta use it + roots.
Got both djinn and genie? Pick both and spend all your points on the djinn and maybe some mana generation towers if you get them on the 2nd or maybe 3rd turn.
Got poison towers and tower of promises? Go for slight re-roll and maybe one mana if early and obsidian tower for a start then shift to tower of blood / devil tower & or cauldron.
Can't remember a rare tower start that really excels from memory but usually you get better other towers when you start with a rare tower. Maybe the imp factory works but i haven't managed it yet.
Cerberus usually gets you past the first boss with some good rng when spending mana on it and just focusing on building something else while upgrading your mana generation.
succubus+blood+imp spam works to get past act 2 (with cerberus for act 1) but the lack of attack scaling makes it nearly impossible to get past act 3.
Its just super frustrating having all your runs die to rng.
1) too may towers
2) too less synergies among each other
3) too fast enemy scaling (you can basically beat normal mode with one or two towers until wavel 5)

Regen is never gonna be a endless strat, it was just a fun thing i aimed at starting with.
-Got the starting perk for all uncommon towers turn 1.
-Got blood+succubus turn 1
-well+cerberus turn 2
-chaos turn 3.
-focus on lvling well and infusing cerb.
-got annoying token after boss 1 giving it to cerb and bought glutton
-build a lvl 3 imp along the way for free imps to feed into succubus
-at some point I got like 70 mana a turn. just spam reroll to get all towers as high as possible and infuse succubus and blood since cerberus hp wouldnt hold up anymore to get more than 2 hits killing 2 monster guaranteed anyway
-after boss 2 added ration behind inferno with promise and fryer
-same as during act 2 just spam all towers to high level

still the biggest rng fest ever
Two cerbery with promises lvl 2-3 between them basically guarantees you the kill
The problem is how to tackle next round. Cerberi drops in usefulness really fast
genie-ifriti combo if acquired early and then well fed. Spinner really helps here
You only need to get ifriti fast enough:
Standard well building + chaos economy.
Promises +cerbery early defense.
And ifriti as soon as possible. Either get +1 tower on first lvl up to get ifriti going, or genie if you're lucky enough.
Get freeze tokens when you can! You'll need at least lvl two ifriti. It's easy to lvl up further - up ifriti, freeze random tower, wait for genie or chaos tower lvl up.
feed him like there's no tomorrow and spend mana on him and it'll be quite a comfortable win

which is sad sometimes, cause you have everything starting to scale up.. and then you get destroyed by the boss.
That said.. its a difficult balance, cause I'll admit that loseing a round early often times is part of the fun, and make me wanna try again, to see if I can get a little better rng.. and make the build work. But when you reach a point where you tried say 20 times, and it just wont scale fast enough to beat the boss... and you dont really have room/ or want to play cerberus it is kinda demotivating.
