Again stuck, but this time due to bad level design...
So i was just rummaging around trying to scrape some gold together on "The Sword" mission after completing all the objectives. And then i end up first in a tiny model village then in some giant rooms. I thought the giant rooms might just be for show but tried to explore and found I could. But I've been all over the room and the bedroom and theres no way out.

I saw a walkthrough that said the way out was through the mousehole in the corner but it isnt because theres no ladder and the ledges are far to high to reach. Why would they put an area like this in just to trap you in it and waste your time?? I've now got to reload an earlier save to progress.

It's a damn good thing i dont just use one save slot or i'd be fuming right now!!

Welcome to Little Big World; wonderful isn't it?

It isn't due to bad level design. You need to use rope arrows on the wooden surfaces to climb up. You only need 1 arrow and I think you can find some in that part of the level.

Oh great, a mechanic that pops up in the game without any explanation, expecting you to just know how to use it. Well i did give it a go before, but no rope ever came out so I assumed they didnt work any more, it being an old game, seems to work now though...

Rope Arrow - Rope arrows can only be fired successfully into wooden or
earthern materials. When they hit, they will embed
themselves in the struck surface, and a rope will extend
straight downward from the point of impact. These ropes
can be climbed just like ladders (see climbing above).

From the manual.
Without any explanation? Well, for one thing it tells you what it does in the item shop screen. Secondly, you are expected to use it at the beginning of The Sword to enter the house. Thirdly, Rope arrows have been in the game since Mission 3 and the game rightly expects you to have worked out what they do by now.

Its an old game *shrug*. But aren't rope arrows covered in the tutorial? I forget.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
