Higher resolutions

Supposedly the steam version of thief 1 and 2 includes the ddfix and should show all resolutions, however in both games for me it shows only 640 x 480 and 800 x 600 and the game doesn't look too good on my 1920 x 1080 monitor. How can I fix this?

With the HD Mod and Tfix, definitely no problem with 1920x1080. I've had this working and I am at least half way through it and I've had zero problems. Definitely deserves a full play through for the second time. Reminds me why I loved Thief 1/2 so much. Very fun to play.

I cant seem to get it to launch with the HD textures, it may be a noob question but how did you get it to work with Steam? @Stryker

First thing to do is shut Steam down before applying any such patch to your game.

patching with steam running shouldn't be a problem anymore (with 1.18h or newer), but yeah, one can never be too safe.

as for hdmod installation, refer to the FAQs on moddb or TTLG.

I shutdown Steam before I play. I run the executable from the directory, for example mine is.

H:\My Steam\steamapps\common\thief_gold

If I remember correctly, I ran the game once within steam. I then shutdown steam and installed TFix and HD mod before I played. I then created a shortcut from the above directory and I run it without opening steam. I am well on my way to completing it and I've had no problems. This is truly a fantastic game, so atmospheric and interesting. Here is the link for TFix which also explains how to install

When I do run steam to play other games, it does not show my play time since I run it outside of steam. I also disabled "do not update" under properties within steam which I don't think should matter as ps47.3dfx pointed out. It is currently sitting at 6 minutes which should technically read 16+ hours....lol

Good luck DarkFall, this game is worth the effort for Tfix and the HD mod.

Cheers @Stryker Finally got it to work! Apparently the sufggested folder of HDMOD needed to be removed and i needed to extract it straight into the Thief_Gold Direc :) Thank you!
