Black parade is overrated and kinda sucks
Too much unnecessary worldbuilding and way too many enemies, still at the first level tho, but from all the praise this fan expansion is getting i was expecting much more. Also there was an entire mansion that had no loot whatsoever.

In terms of difficulty? Harder, like all FMs are harder than the original games.
thank you. appreciated. I will skip it👍🏾

Trial Of Iron
The Long Shadow Falls
Arcane Sanctum

Are relatively easy. You can use the jump to next mission cheat if you get stuck anywhere.

Dear all,

I am curious about a general review of the difficulties (more objectively). For me I enjoy the atmosphere, T2 was good, but challenging (not the games fault;))
how is ithe mod in comparison to thief 1 and 2?

It's basically like the harder levels of Thief 1 or 2, nothing really crazy though

There are a few reasons why it's harder: Very complex levels (like the most complex levels of the Thief games), more enemies, more loud surfaces (feature marble in quite a few places), more undead, and harder loot locations.

Anyway, I really wouldn't skip the mod because of this. Where's the sporting spirit? See it as a challenge. 😉

Personally I think its the best Thief Fan Mission Campaign of all time and I wont be surprised if it is never bested.

I don't think there can be two opinions about that.

I think the best fan MISSION is Scarlet Cascabel though.

I have a hard time picking favorites but The Scarlet Cascabel was indeed a 10/10 fm for me, def will be replaying it sometime in the future.

This may be a hot take. but I would like to see more passion project with a story of more of their own identity and setting for example:

Seven Sisters - Small town under qurantine featuring a zombified Jenivere and a very helpful Basso
Sturmdrang Peak- Castle under siege w/ Lovecraftian theme
The Scarlet Cascabel - Indiana Jones and The Shiníng combined
The Sword of the Stone - Cheesy villian to revolutionze the security industry of the city
Rose Garden - Cabelistic assassination plot, tribute to the likes of Club Dumas/Foucault's Pendulum/Da Vinci Code

Mega campaigns often sticks too close to TDP format and pays too much fan service...The world Thief is much large than just Glyphs and Keepers, and Garret doesn't need to save the world every time.

I get what you mean but imo I just want a good thief map. Most have pretty bare bone plots and that’s fine.

Dominion of the Dead is probably my favorite catacombs fm. So far, each of these missions has been a good example of their mission type. I think they're great.

I'm an absolute sucker for such missions.

The one thing I found that Black Parade's missions suffer from is the size. They're almost all too large. It becomes cumbersome to explore and to manage the navigation, when the missions are all super HUGE. Plus, you get tired and overwhelmed at some point.

There has been a trend to super HUGE missions for quite a while now. While it's surely impressive that FM authors manage that kind of complexity, I don't think it always helps gameplay, to say the least.

why FM makers still use the outdated as fk thief gold engine when the Dark Mod engine is available? It breaks immersion when NPCs all look like minecraft characters.
